Let’s talk PR. The power of the press can be a huge tool for you to gain attention and support for your crowdfunding campaign. It requires preparation and legwork, so read on for some tips to get in front of the press.

1. Research is Key. Take time to research the outlets that cover companies like yours, and read articles written by journalists that cover your industry. You’ll be able to leverage this information to create a personalized pitch.

2. Create a Simple Pitch. Just like your Fundable profile, it’s important that your pitch succinctly tell your story and get to the point quickly. Journalists are busy and inundated with emails, so you want to tell them about your news in a few paragraphs. Remember you can always offer to follow up with more detailed information.

3. Follow Up. If at first you don’t succeed, email the journalist again! Often your email will land at the bottom of a pile, so following up could be the key to getting their attention.
