Compton United Soccer Club [http://www.comptonunited.org] is the only sanctioned US Youth Soccer club in or around the inner city community of Compton, CA. Currently, CUSC is forming four competitive teams and needs to rely on outside fund raising to facilitate their club expenses, as the players and families usually cannot afford much in terms of "extras". The players must complete community service hours in a "sweat-equity" type of system to play club fees in which they cannot afford. Through this model, the players work for their reward and do not receive a handout. They also learn to build back into their community which results in a sense of ownership and commitment. CUSC has partnered with adidas, USA which provides quality uniforms at the lowest possible prices. CUSC currently has 68 players to outfit at an average cost of $70 per player.
