HELP IS DESPERATELY NEEDED FOR FUZZY THE KITTY CAT
Your help is desperately needed to save Fuzzy, a sweet stray kitty we rescued from a feeding spot on Sunday night. He has very severe and painful skin cancer on his ear and is in need of surgery to have his ear amputated and remove the horrible cancer. The redness and swolleness you see in the pictures is nothing compared to how it looks in person. It's extremely difficult to look at him... But it's worse to think that this little guy has endured this pain and has been suffering for so long all on his own. When we found him he was extremely dirty and greasy. He must have been so happy that day that he first found our feeding spot and didn't have to climb up into the dumpsters anymore.
The surgery will cost at least $600 and has already amounted to an additional $368 for a grandtotal of $1000+ . For anyone who happens upon this ad and would like to help out, please know that NO donation is too small at all.... he is in absolutely desperate need of medical attention and we are hoping to raise enough funds to move forward with his surgery by Monday. The good news is that the cancer is confined to his ear and that with surgery they can fix him up nicely and he can live a happy life. Despite his horrifying condition he doesn't appear to be an old kitty. But he has clearly been living in extreme pain discomfort for quite some time now.
More so than ever we are moved by this sweet, vulnerable little kitty, Fuzzy. We'd love to give him a second chance and show him that he's not just a number. We don't want his last days to have been spent enduring an unspeakable pain that all the while could have been treated. It doesn't take much to see that behind those sweet little eyes is a real living creature with feelings and emotions who is just as deserving as any other. But these things are sometimes not easy as we'd like. My husband and I help sick kitties like this every month and the bills are often very high. We do it out of our own pockets, have small incomes and have completed depleted our resources. We feed upwards of 40 cats and kittens every day, trapping, fixing and find the adoptable ones homes (every day we have ads for them on Craigslist), spending every last penny to help these little cats. Our rescue expenses (mainly food and vet bills) last year exceeded $12,000 with $1500 (solely on vet bills) plus an additional $500 on food in December alone. The money (or lack thereof) means nothing to us. We'd rather live our lives in debt and know that we helped out a few little creatures. But with no one else fixing or rescuing the cats in the area where we rescued Fuzzy (which is not even our own neighborhood), it's easy to feel completely alone.
We know that there are so many good people out there who would love to help in some way, but maybe they just aren't sure how. If you'd like to help Fuzzy, donations can be sent at any time (even after Monday). If you do not have paypal option or would rather send a check, please contact me and I will provide you with a mailing address!

In the meantime we have made him as comfortable as possible. He actually seems quite content in his little cage, perhaps relieved that he has a soft warm bed and can enjoy his Fancy Feast. Once he has his operation and has a chance to rest up and get him a little more used to people we'll find him a nice indoor only home where he can watch the birdies through the window. We always find amazing homes for kitties like Fuzzy and until then he'll stay here with us. If you have any questions or would ever even just like to come by and see him please drop us a line. He's not looking so good right now but someday soon he'll be a handsome boy and will be feeling like a kitty cat again!
Thanks so much for listening.

"The heartbreak happens all too often a pet owner is unable to afford treatment and their sick or injured companion animal pays the price. If the owner is elderly, disabled or on a fixed income, the cost of care may be too much of a stretch for their pocketbook.
Perhaps they have been victimized by crime, property loss or a job layoff and are experiencing a temporary financial hardship making it too difficult to afford pet care. And some animals, brought to clinics by Good Samaritans, don't have an owner to pay for treatment. Whatever the situation, the fact remains the same: When sick or injured animals are unable to receive veterinary care, they suffer. Through the AAHA Helping Pets Fund, veterinary care is possible for sick or injured pets even if they have been abandoned or if their owner is experiencing financial hardship."
