We have decided to formally open our hearts, homes and hands to Helping The Helpless Pet Rescue in Coatesville, PA. I am a Mother of 3 and currently have 7 dogs at home, all Rescues. A few months back our beloved Belle was a victim of a Hit and Run. We were in the process of making the very difficult decision to have Belle pts as we had already used our Mortgage payment to pay for her ER care and could not afford her life saving surgery. In reaching out to this incredible "Rescue Community" and through the help of Dear Friends and Family, within one week Belle was recovering from the Surgery she so desperately needed. In hopes to "pay it forward" we began taking in Dogs that were slated to be Euthanized, fostering them and adopting them out to responsible, qualified and loving homes. I have made invaluable contacts with other reputable Rescues across the nation and through networking have been able to save many lives. There are millions of pets discarded, abused and left to fend for themselves every day, most of whom end up in Shelters in line to be Euthanized. I would like to take my endeavors one step further, ok, many steps forward!

We are in the process of developing a Network of qualified Foster Homes where pets pulled from Shelters can find temporary sanctuary before their "furever" homes can be found. We fully screen all potential Adopters prior to placement. We do this through an Adoption Application/Contract, Adoption Donation, Home Visits, Vet References and other "non-personal" reference checks. We are in the process of instituting a "Seniors for Seniors" program as well. Most Senior Pets who end up in the Shelter system are considered "un-adoptable" because of their age. We are in the process of communicating with local Senior Living Facilities in matching Senior Pets with the Elderly. We believe that this companionship for both the Pet and the Elderly is invaluable. We have also begun the long process of becoming 501c3 recognized. We are formatting a website that will feature all adoptable pets, our Adoption policies as well as "courtesy post" for other Reputable Rescues. We would also l like the website to be a factual source of current legislation pertaining to Domesticated Animals and ways for fellow Animal lovers to become involved in making the necessary changes to help reduce the over pet population.

I am also working very closely with local PA State Representatives in revising the current Dog Law as well as local Law enforcement in updating and instituting new ordnances pertaining to Domesticated Pets. These ordinances will benefit Human treatment of domesticated animals and help ensure that pets are spayed and neutered. Our goal is to help reduce the number of homeless pets.

Pets are a constant source of love and companionship and all should be treated as such.

The approximate cost to "pull" a pet from a Shelter is $35. It costs about $250 to fully vet and spay/neuter a pet. Any pet adopted out from Helping The Helpless Pet Rescue will be fully vetted and altered. The cost to Foster and transport, if applicable, a pet varies, of course based on age, size and distance.

Helping The Helpless Pet Rescue is seeking devoted sponsors to help us in our endeavor. We are happy to provide our Vet Reference as well as other reputable Rescue references to anyone who may be willing to contribute to our cause. One time donations are welcome and immensely appreciated. We are also seeking committed bi-annual sponsors to help us continue to do what we do. If we can build a "fund" this will ensure that we can continue being the voices for these helpless pets. If you are willing to consider being an on-going sponsor, we will look forward to continued communication. We will also gladly provide detailed reports of expenses. This will eventually be readily accessible on our website as well.

Our goal is to help one helpless Pet at a time. We intend to do this through locating needy pets in Shelters or in In-Humane situations, bring them into one of our compassionate Foster Homes until a loving permanent home can be located. However, we cannot do this without the help of fellow Animal lovers.

We have set a goal of $500. This will ensure enough to financially secure at least two Rescues, if not more. As rescued pets are adopted out into their furever homes, all adoption fees will go directly back into rescuing another. If there ever comes a time when Helping The Helpless is able to monetarily help another Rescue or needy pet that we are unable to take into our program, we will. We do this from our home; we do not have any sort of facility. All pets will be housed, not boarded, while we locate their lifelong Human Companions.

Helping The Helpless Pet Rescue appreciates any and all monetary help you are willing to provide! Thank you in advance for your support and generosity. PLEASE do not hesitate to contact us with any questions. THANK YOU for taking the time to read our lengthy mission statement, goals and worthy campaign!

*The above picture is of 3 Pittie X Puppies that we are currently fostering. They were going to be turned into a SC Shelter by an Owner who could not afford to care for them anymore. Being a Pit Bull in a SC shelter is not a good place to be as most are euthanized before attempts are made to be adopted out. With the help of other SC Rescues, we ensured that the Owner had the mother spayed; this was contingent on us taking the puppies in.

*Helping The Helpless Pet Rescue is dedicated in memory of Duncan. Duncan was our first "rescue." We pulled him from a NYC Shelter in line for Euthanasia. Duncan was a 6 year old American Staffordshire Terrier. He proved to be an incredible companion and friend. Sadly we recently had to let Duncan go, as he had an in-operable tumor that encompassed his Heart. Duncan will be dearly missed. Tho we move forward rescuing more deserving pets in his memory!

Right know I can pledge only $100 every 6 months BUT - you will have to remind me! Hopefully I will be able to increase this in the future. Give a thought to incorporating our great friends in NH in your plans.
