Let us help Bette to walk!

Bette, a purebred Japanese Chin, was freed at an auction in Colgate OK on 3-15-08. She was only 5 months old, with an overbite and badly crippled back legs. We are in the process of beginning her knee surgery. Her left leg required the most extensive surgery since her kneecap was located on the outside of her leg and the upper bone was curved outward, rather than straight. In 3 weeks, she will require additonal surgery on her right knee and we hope that she will be able to walk upright, rather than crawl on her belly.

The little beauty could have very easily been destroyed for her defects...instead, she is recovering from her spay, a large umbilical hernia repair, first need surgery and the next surgery scheduled soon. No baby should have to suffer as she did, or live their life as a breeder in a puppy mill to pass this on.

We will do everything in our power to make sure this little "Swan" grows into her beauty on all 4 legs and let her live the pampered life she so deserves!
