Surgery for Daisy!

Hi, my name is Daisy. That cute picture is me! It was taken a few days after I came home from the doctor. I was smaller then and you can still see where the I.V. was that kept me alive. I was the weakest in a litter of starving little puppies. I spent my first night of rescue at the medical clinic where I was clinging to life on an I.V. I was so malnourished and pot bellied that I could barely walk. It was not certain if I would make it through the night! But, I did!! My hair began to fall out soon after and it was really embarrassing. But..It finally grew back! After a few months on special food and medicine I was feeling much better. Although my overall health improved, I began stumbling to the ground whenever I decided to run or take a walk. Recent X-rays have revealed that I need a leg surgery which is expected to cost aprox
$ 2,000.00. I set my goal on Fundable for $ 500.00 because that should be enough funds to make my surgery happen. My vet feels that surgery is my best chance for a healthy life. Things look pretty grim for me without this surgery. I am scared but I think I will be able to walk much better.

I have been starved nearly to death and have spent most of my life looking for a home. I have survived the unthinkable. I need this surgery as soon as possible in order to limit the arthritic problems in my future and the chance of going lame. Without this procedure, my Doc thinks that I will suffer with severe pain. I am loosing precious time and hope. Last night..I went for a short walk and my family noticed that my pain is increasing now. I can't pull myself up now when I lay down for a nap - it hurts!

If the funds are raised, I would like to have surgery by the middle to end of May. My opportunity for surgery is fast approaching because once many of the arthritic changes occur it may be too late. It is possible that my family will have to begin treating me with pain medications if we can't raise enough funds soon. I don't take medicine very well..and it tastes terrible. My family and friends have raised $ 600.00 toward my surgery but are a little behind schedule. Please help me reach my goal so that I can have my surgery soon! I don't know why someone just threw me away with the trash - I am a sweet and loving animal who would love a chance to live a full life. I sure hope that my community will help make a difference in my life.
