I am looking to collect seed funds for my feature film THUMBING. All monies collected will go directly toward preproduction, which will include setting up an LLC, securing production insurance, enlisting a storyboard artist, finalizing the budget proposal and shooting schedule, locating independent investors, and securing locations, equipment, crew and cast.
Currently we have a unique, shootable script with compelling characters; we have a dynamic Director of Photography and we are in the process of negotiating a great deal on a large sound studio; we have a talented camera owner/operator willing to give us a great rate on a Panasonic HPX500; we have several strong leads for both the primary location and the two secondary locations; and we are seeking Letters of Interest from well known talent to attach themselves to the project.
Our objective is to have a budget in place to begin principle photography this summer and to have a rough cut of the film ready by September to submit to next year's Sundance film festival.

LOGLINE: As a pair of introspective travelers journey through the desert one night they seek to find answers to questions about their place and purpose in today's society and the residual effect they have on those they come in contact with.
SYNOPSIS: Bill is a longhaul trucker on the losing end of a midlife crisis. Reed is a hitchhiker eager to discover more about a world that frightens and fascinates him. On a cold night in the California desert Bill stops for Reed and his battle scarred guard dog Diamond Jim. As they travel and talk, Reed opens up about his desire to leave his mark on the world while Bill is interested in swaying karma after years of favoring work over family. They stop to snap photos of the Welcome to Our State billboards and for breakfast at a 24 hour roadside diner where Bill reveals the roots of his physical scars. As the dawn threatens to break they stop at a remote gas station to refuel where Reed is warned of the dangers lurking in the desert by a Gulf War veteran as he waits at a payphone for a call that will never come.
