Who we are:
REMEDY is a medical student organization at the Pritzker School of Medicine dedicated to relieving the health disparities of developing countries. Our focus is to recover and collect medicine and medical supplies in the US and to deliver and distribute these goods to underserved communities abroad. In doing so we gain firsthand experience with the health disparities in these countries and, upon returning to the US, become health advocates by educating our community about the issues that we witness.

This year's mission:
Over the past five years, our REMEDY chapter has organized successful trips to the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Cuba. This year, we plan to build upon previous successes and bring our supplies, medications, knowledge, and passion to the regions of Trujillo and Agallpampa, Peru. We will spend fourteen days volunteering with two non-profit organizations -- Mosoq Ayllu and the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children -- that work to improve healthcare in these impoverished regions. This will be a mutually beneficial process: we will offer the clinics an infusion of supplies and volunteers, while we will given the opportunity to integrate knowledge of the complexities of international healthcare into our medical education. Ultimately, we plan to become advocates for the improvement of healthcare in developing nations such as Peru and to become leaders in the effort to reduce healthcare disparities around the world.

About our fundraising campaign:
Our REMEDY chapter typically spends the majority of the academic year fundraising through on- and off-campus events and grant applications. This year, we wanted to add this online fundraising campaign to our overall efforts, in the hopes that we will be able to garner support from our family and friends, both near and far. While our ULTIMATE goal is to raise $50,000 during this academic year, we are hoping that EACH REMEDY member will be able to raise at least $200 through this online fundraising campaign.

At this point, you will only be making a PLEDGE, and the pledges are only turned into PAYMENTS if I am able to reach my $200 goal within the next 25 days.
