Bella and the power to live

Bella: This little dog has strength and perseverence far greater than her size. Bella came to us from a Puppy Mill in Pennsylvania. She was rescued by volunteers around the state who brought her to us. We took her to the Vet who felt puppies inside her. Upon doing an ultrasound, he could find no heartbeats. The Vet did an emergency C-Section and during this surgery, he found 3 puppies who sadly did not make it. He also found cancer, and b-b gun pellets. Someone had shot poor Bella in the past and never took her for treatment. Through hours of surgery she held on and finally the outcome was successful. All cancer has been removed, as well as the BB pellets. Bella is now spayed and up to date on all of her vaccinations. When picked up at the vet, she was still in a great deal of pain, but she opened her eyes, looked up, and wagged her tail as if saying, thanks for giving me a second chance at life. Bella is recovering beautifully. She is believed to be 7-8 years of age, but has the energy of a puppy. She loves attention and to have her ears rubbed. Bella is not yet available for adoption but will be as soon as she is fully recovered.
