FLUFFY THE ABANDONED CAT NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Fluffy the abandoned cat needs to visit a vet for a medical check up. Our plate is quite full with 2 rescue dogs and 3 rescue cats. We simply can't afford another vet bill!
Here is the scoop:
About 1 year + ago, we noticed a large white fluffy cat sneaking up to our (1 outdoor) cats food bowl. When we opened or closed the door she would run away very fast. She seemed somewhat domestic so we had the feeling that she belonged to someone at one point. We kept trying to get close to her - but it took about 6 months. Eventually, she would stay around and eat as long as we did not get too close. Recently, we were able to put a collar on her along with a tag with our phone number that read -Is this your cat? After a few more months went by we were able to brush and clean her. We were quite amazed that under that dirty matted fur was a beautiful cat. Soon, she began crying for her food and found a nice safe spot in our yard to sleep.
A few days ago my husband received a phone call that still makes me sick to my stomach. The person on the other end of the line called to say "Yeah that's my cat." After my wife left, I decided I didn't want the cat anymore...You can have her if you want her." To that, My husband said "we were just feeding the cat because we didn't want it to starve to death." The guy replied saying "well we have another cat now and a dog...that cat has too many bad memories anyway..you know." "It looks like she's gained some weight and you brushed her...she was skinny and her fur was all matted before...we don't want her..you can keep her."
We were disgusted, angry, devastated, and just plain sad. We had hoped that someone moved or maybe she was lost! Never did we imagine that someone who lived close by had just decided not to feed and care for this animal anymore. I imagine that he chased her out of his yard because she was quite fearful in the beginning. She had been fending for herself for at least a year before she came to us for help.
It is now clear that Fluffy's owner is not going to care for her. As such, we would like to get this girl some medical attention and are hopeful that some other animal lovers like us will pitch in and help! We would like to find Fluffy a loving home -but don't think she is quite ready yet! She probably would not get adopted from the shelter because she is very timid still. If anyone has helpful info or interest in this regard - please let us know. She is very beautiful and actually quite sweet! We think she feels so wanted now that she is wearing a collar. She is completely unaware that the tag reads "Is this your cat? She does not resemble that dirty, frightened cat that we met over 1 year ago. We have seen an amazing transformation!
Please, Please, Please...help fluffy. We are not asking for much...just a little help! Now that we can hold Fluffy, we would like to give this abandoned sweet girl some shots and a checkup. We just have too many bills and animals of our own to handle the entire bill ourselves. We are willing to help --Are you?
Thank you - From the bottom of Fluffy's heart and ours too!
