Please Help Lilly the Bullmastiff Puppy!
Payment has been disbursed to the group leader.
Update 5/21/08: We have reached our $500 goal for Lilly! Thanks so much to everyone who donated to her care. She is a great girl and deserved this second chance that we were able to give her thanks to your support. She was able to leave the vet's office yesterday and go into foster care - please see the Flickr link below for updated pictures!
Update 5/15/08: Lilly had her surgery and came through with flying colors. She was up and walking around the next morning, what a trooper! She is such a loveable girl and will make a fantastic companion, we're still trying to find that special home for her!
Lilly was rescued from a local shelter in Oklahoma by the American Bullmastiff Association Rescue Service where she had been picked up as a stray dog and no one came to reclaim her. She has a deformity in her right rear leg which did not make her eligible for adoption from the shelter. ABA Rescue stepped in to take her and brought her right to the vet. Our best guess is that she broke her leg at one time in her short life, and it healed very crooked and she is not able to use it at all. The vet said that the best thing to do is amputate the leg since it is causing her some pain, and makes it difficult for her to get around. Her leg has obviously been this way for some time and she is able to manage pretty well on her 3 legs, so we hope this will make her surgery recovery a little easier on her. It hasn't slowed her down much though, true to the Bullmastiff breed she is a strong willed girl which has allowed her to survive the past events in her life.

Please consider donating to help us to pay for Lilly's medical costs. She is scheduled for leg amputation surgery this week. Once she is fully recovered from that, she will be looking for her forever home!
