Accenture China Earthquake Relief Fund

Friends,

On May 12, a magnitude 7.9 earthquake struck Wenchuan County in China’s southwest Sichuan Province, killing an estimated 68,000 people, injuring thousands, and leaving hundreds still buried under collapsed buildings.

In the wake of this devastating disaster and for many of us, an ocean away from the wreckages, I invite you to join in the relief effort to help the earthquake victims overcome their losses. Now more than ever we need to work together as One Global Network to try and relieve the suffering and devastation, and help rebuild for the future. Remember every little bit counts, no matter how small.

Please be aware that Accenture is also planning on rolling out a firm-wide global relief effort which will also provide the opportunity to contribute to the cause. This fund is a regional office (Seattle) sponsored "enhancement" to that initiative.

How Fundable.com works is that either we meet or exceed our pledge target (US$1000), or Fundable.com deletes all pledge and no one pays anything. My personal pledge to this effort is $100 plus all administrative costs associated with Fundable.com. In other words 100% of your donations will go directly to the China Red Cross Sichuan Province Branch, the most devastating disaster-hit region. The fund will not be funneled through any government agencies so rest assured none will be lost during the process.
