Jasmine's Vet Care

Jasmine is a pug/chihauhau mix with a huge pug personality that has come into our rescue. Although her face may not look like the typical pug, we couldn't say no to this very special little girl after hearing her story. She has just turned 4 yrs. young. Sadly she has lived her entire life outdoors until now. Her previous owners gave up on housebreaking her and instead decided to tie her out never allowing her back inside, through all seasons including winter & kept her as an outside dog.

She has one front leg which turns in slightly and she tends to walk on the side of it. It looks to be an old injury that was not been treated and healed incorrectly. We are having x-rays done next week and will know more at that time.

While at her initial vet visit we discovered she has a mass cell tumor which we are having removed and will be sent for a biopsy. Her other lumps were old wounds and abrasions that became infected due to the deplorable conditions she was living in previously & is currently being treated on antiboditics for those. She may have some possible respiratory issues and will be exploring that further while at the hospital for her surgery as well. She will be having her surgery at Duncan Manor Animal Hospital in the PIttsburgh PA area, 412-366-7374.

We are a new small non-profit rescue, no-kill, all volunteer, working solely through donations, so our resources are extremely limited at this time as we are just beginning. We tried to ask for help from a few larger local all-breed rescues but they were unable to help us. The estimate for Jasmine's upcoming initial surgery is $800. Jasmine is very friendly & loves to sit in your lap & give kisses. She just seems to be such a grateful little pug mix, we think she's so happy to be cleaned-up, living indoors & getting tons of attention now. She loves to play & curl up with the other pugs. What a happy little girl, so excited, everything seems new to her.

This special little lady deserves a home where she gets to spend warm winter nights indoors. Ironically since I've brought into my home, she has not had one accident. We think she's such a wonderful little girl, who deserves a second chance & a warm forever home to live out her days.
