Buddy Lee's Medical Bills
Payment has been disbursed to the group leader.
Over the years, many, many people have contributed a great deal of time, resources, compassion and energy to dogs in the care of Ring Dog Rescue. As part of this work, many have come to know Tonya Irizarry, one of the founders of Ring Dog. Unfortunately, one of Tonya's own dogs, Buddy Lee, is in need of help and Ring Dog Rescue is asking for support from our volunteers.
In December 2007 and the young age of 10 Buddy underwent a pacemaker implantation (http://www.cvcavets.com/services%20surgery.htm). Three months after surgery he was in congestive heart failure (http://www.2ndchance.info/conghtfaildog.htm). In June he suffered from pancreatitis as a result of the heart medication (http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=2&cat=1580&articleid=335), but he is finally home and on the road to recovery and his family couldn't be happier.
As you can imagine all of these procedures are not cheap and have end up costing close to $10,000.
Pacemaker Implantation - $4,500
Follow-up visits thus far- $1,200
Pancreatitis - $2,600
Monthly Medication - $100/month
Tonya got Buddy 10 years ago while living in Florida. He was her first dog and has been through everything with her in the past ten years. Since he wasn't always a fan of other dogs he was an only dog until the age of 7. Now he tolerates the other dogs, but doesn't really care for them. He doesn't care for people much either...he's gotten much better as he has gotten older.
