Hi Everyone,

I really need your help. As many of you know, a little over a year ago, I started "New Dawn Pet Rescue". Through New Dawn, I go to the Los Angeles city animal shelters, and I rescue dogs that are scheduled to be euthanized. I also specialize in rescuing sick and injured dogs from the pound, because most people don't want to adopt a sick or injured dog. These dogs don't usually make it out of the pound alive. Once I rescue the dog, I bring him home, nurse him back to health, and adopt him to a loving family, then start the process all over again. I've been very, very busy with this lately, and unfortunately my funds are running very low. I desperately need to get more funds so I can continue helping sick and injured dogs from the pound. Just to give you an example of the hecticness that is always going on in my home, here are THREE cases I am dealing with, right now:

1) Lucy (who is in the picture) was rescued from the East Valley Animal Shelter. She was going to be euthanized, and I pulled her and brought her to my home to be fostered. I got Lucy a little over a week ago, and when I got her, she was completely emaciated (as you can see by the picture). She also had a lot of nasal discharge, and was coughing. I took her to the vet, and now she is on two different types of antibiotics, and is getting fed high calorie food all throughout the day. I have definitely seen progress in her health, and she is steadily gaining weight. This picture was taken of her on the day I got her.

2) Sascha is a senior Rottweiler who was rescued from the pound. Sascha was dumped at the pound at 11 years of age!!! How could someone abandon a dog like that, once the dog is that old?! She never had a chance to get out of the pound alive. I knew that it was highly unlikely that someone would adopt a dog of that age. So I took Sascha out of the pound, she is now safe and is being fostered in my home. The problem is though, that Sascha has a painful abscess on her rear end that needs to be surgically removed, that no one ever bothered doing for her. I am working on raising the funds to get her the surgery that she needs. In the mean time, I have her on pain meds.

3) Toby is a Corgi mix who was rescued from the North Central Animal Shelter. Poor Toby was attacked by another dog, and he had to have surgery to repair the damage to his neck.

To treat these dogs costs thousands of dollars. And the amount that I've been spending on the vet bills has caused my funds to run dry. I urgently need more funds, so I can continue helping these animals. If you can donate ANY amount, even if it's a small amount, it will add up and make it so that I can continue saving these dogs, and finding them loving new homes. All the dogs stay with me in my house while they recuperate, and until I can find them a loving new home. Once I take the dog out of the pound, I make sure that he never, ever goes back. I kindly ask: Could you make a small donation? Also, could you please forward this to your friends? I would REALLY appreciate it.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you may have, at NewDawnPetRescue@yahoo.com . Also, please, please, please e-mail your friends about this.

On behalf of the animals, thank you SO much!

Sincerely,

Lacey Conner

Please check out www.oslf.org & imom.org Read everything carefully to see if you qualify. (I don't believe they will pay for existing vet bills.) But they may be able to help you raise funds for future treatment. Your vet may be able to help you fill out an application. Good luck!

YOU ARE AWESOME
