GROWL has been super busy helping shelter pets get out of the shelters. There were 2 litters of puppies in the Greenville shelter who desperately needed to get out. They had been there too long and their time was up. GROWL took them in at the last minute and put them into a foster home for what was supposed to be 3 weeks to be quarantined. After a few days some of the puppies started coughing... of course we started treating them all for kennel cough which turned into upper respiratory infections. Two of the puppies ended up getting severe pnuemonia. Foxxy and Possie got the worst of it... They were both touch and go as they spent day after day at the vets getting fluid and a new course of antiobiotics to see if they could beat it. Although Possie had pnuemonia, Foxxy had a severe case of it and she beat the odds. Even the vets did not expect her to make it through!!! Possie made a full recovery as well as the rest of the litters. Although Foxxy is MUCH better she is still getting vet treatment and could not go up north on the van run with the rest of her litter as she still has a respiratory infection. The cost of treatment to get them all treated was quite high (as well as Foxxy still getting treated) but we knew we could not let this litter of pups down on their second chance at life!!! If you can help with even the smallest amount, it is so appreciated!!!
