Road Trip '06: Mesquital

This summer, the LRC youth group will be returning to the fishing village in Mesquital to continue building a church that will also serve as a hurricane shelter for the residents that live there. In the past two years, we have developed some great friendships with a number of the folks who call this tiny peninsula home. The church now has nearly 60 people attending services every week.

Our plan this summer is to actually "live" with them, camping in Mexico at the church site. We want to experience their lifestyle, culture and learn FROM them. There will be lots of time set aside to play, fish and visit, in addition to our work project. The dates are June 4th through June 9th.
