Liberty Airlines is a commercial aviation and air transport services company dedicated to promoting and developing high-quality commercial air transport service to one of the most underserved regions in the world - West Africa.

After decades of civil hostilities and unrest, the Mano River Union (MRU) region of West Africa is working toward economic revitalization and development. Development of an active commercial air transport system is an essential piece of that puzzle.

In promoting and developing commercial air transport services to Liberia and the Mano River Union, Liberty Airlines seeks to unite a significant economic opportunity with a powerful humanitarian cause.

The Mano River Union (MRU) -- the area made up of the countries of Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Cote d’Ivoire -- is one of the poorest regions in the world. Decades of civil hostilities have disrupted development of the sub-region -- and nowhere is this disruption more apparent than in the region’s transportation system.

With very little railroad service and no modern highway system, ground travel in Liberia and MRU communities is very poor. Connecting cities and communities within the MRU sub-region is like serving islands in the ocean -- aviation is the best and, in some places the only mode of transportation.

Recent years have seen the beginning of a change. Commercial air transport services in Liberia have been steadily improving, with the rehabilitation of local airports, including Roberts International Airport (RIA), in Margibi County, and the James Spriggs Payne Airport in Monrovia, Montserrado County, Liberia.

Despite that fact, there is still no trusted airline providing regular and reliable air transit throughout Liberia and to neighboring countries. Companies from the gas, oil, mining and other industries have begun to show interest in the region, but with few options for commercial transport, acceleration of these and other industries have been significantly impaired, holding back the economic development of the region.

And Liberty Airlines Inc. is leading the way.

Liberty Airlines, Inc. was founded in December 2003, with the specific vision: to fill the gap in the domestic air transport services sector in Liberia and the Mano River Union (MRU).

Liberty Airlines, Inc. began by providing both helicopter and fixed wing aircraft services to all 15 counties of Liberia and most parts of Mano River Union (MRU), which includes Sierra Leone, Guinea and Cote d’Ivoire.

Now, with the addition of commercial charter and scheduled services, Liberty Airlines, Inc. will be the only known major domestic airline operating dedicated charter and schedule services in the internal Liberian and MRU domestic markets.

Passenger service will be one-class, with all aircraft configured for a seating capacity of 12-19. All flights will be ticketed flights with reservations and sales handled predominantly by Liberty Airlines’s own General Sales and Services Agency (GSSA) and several capable local travel agents.

Additional specialty services provided by Liberty Airlines will include:

Liberty Airlines is already providing commercial air transport services for some of the largest economic forces in Liberia and the broader MRU area -- relationships that the airline will continue to nurture as it advances its newly expanded services. Organizations for which Liberty Airlines currently provides transit services include:

AND MORE!

Up next for Liberty Airlines: we are aiming to launch domestic and MRU schedule operations in July 2017, with scheduled services among Mano River Union States to begin by September 1, 2017.
