Miss Fit Girls is a yoga-based program that gives girls ages 10-14 time to accept, connect, celebrate, encourage and strengthen themselves and each other.

The lives of our children is fast and furious. They have their parents, teachers, coaches, friends and the WORLD WIDE WEB in their ears 24/7.  Miss Fit Girls gives them time to settle the turbulant waters.  Time on & off the mat is spent focusing our attention on listening to our voice.  The community is a huge part of our program as our belief is 'it takes a village to raise a child'.  Guest speakers come in and offer guidance through their experiences.  Speakers have been firefighters, artists, dream therapists, cosmetologists, acupuncturist, pilots, policemen & women, nutritionalist and more.  These girls, much like many of us, feel overwhelmed and sometimes very alone.  To bring them to the mat, where they feel their strength, and trust it, and when they open their eyes they see a village of people offering their hands in support, it strengthens us all.

We created the program October 2012 and had our first class 2 weeks later.  Eleven girls showed up...for what? They weren't sure.  The next week 2 more.  The next 2 more.  They didn't know what to expect, they came with open minds and curiousity.  We are now in 3 schools in Jefferson County, Colorado.  We are working on programs in Summit County, Colorado as well as Missouri and Michigan.  

To celebrate these braves girls for getting on the mat, we are going to break the Guinness WORLD RECORD for the LARGEST JUNIOR HIGH YOGA CLASS, May 18, 2013 in Evergreen, Colorado.  ALL participants, regards of age or gender will be counted in breaking this record.  Mark your calendar... Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Brothers & Sisters... come and celebrate.

Miss Fit Girls is such a unique program. It offers time, our most valuable asset.  Time to be themselves, time to settle, time to laugh and connect.  Miss Fit Girls has proven again and again, how much we are alike and how unique we all are.  So many different shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and yet, there is a thread that connects us. 

When given the time to hear our own voices, with the applauses and backing of the community to do so... our girls will soar!

The funds generated from this program will go directly to the girls.  Sponsorship is a huge portion of this fund raiser.  We've heard over and over, "we just can't afford to attend".  We never, NEVER want a girl to miss out on this time due to financial concerns.  A portion will also be used for equipment for the program.
