As you may know, I will launch an organic Argan oil skin care company, Verità, this month with four products. While small in size, the potential to create new skin care applications using the concentrated moisturizing properties of Argan oil and the healing properties of essential oils are tremendous as an alternative to main stream brands that use synthetic chemicals. My vision is to develop a premium skin care line made from the finest quality of certified organic ingredients to offer therapeutic, rejuvenating, and softening products that are safe to put on the body and provide nutrients for the skin. I want to empower consumers like you to know what ingredients you are putting on top of the skin and subsequently in your body by knowing exactly what’s in my products. I lived in Egypt for four years where I developed a passion for international business and working with women across the Middle East and North Africa. Verità partners with women-owned businesses and the Argan oil is produced entirely by women's cooperatives in Morocco. I believe that global companies such as Verità can bring healthy, organic products to the market while being environmentally sustainable, supporting economic development in emerging markets, and creating jobs for women around the world. Being Italian by descent,I studied in Turin, Italy, in high school where I first gained a love for languages and cultures.I speak Egyptian Arabic and Italian.

I first visited the Atlas Mountains in Morocco in 2009 on a winter vacation with my Egyptian friend Shimmy. We climbed the high altitude mountains with a local guide and met the women of the Argan cooperatives who produce the oil by hand with a cold press. Shimmy first introduced me to the moisturizing properties of Argan oil on our adventures in Marrakech, Morocco, five years ago. In Egypt as well, the benefits of Argan oil for the skin and hair are legendary.

Verità, meaning truth in Italian, is a skin care and body line that uses organic products from the Middle East and Africa that are sustainably processed from the earth and have a positively impact on the local community. Product development involves seeking out suppliers that are environmentally conscientious about how their products are manufactured, its impact on the environment, and the interaction they have with the local community. It also entails building relationships with U.S. suppliers of bottles, labels, boxes, packaging, and presentation so that I can bring these products to all of you. Funding also supports importing quality organic products from certified suppliers in North Africa from the women producers.

Verità will be a global company of small businesses working together in harmony to provide an organic alternative to the chemical-laden products on the shelf. I helped a team raise an annual budget of $1.5 million dollars to facilitate global business between the United States and the Middle East, including the support of businesswomen and small entrepreneurs.
