Security -
Or Lack Thereof?

Still, though, anyone can copy an RFID card or can follow in badgeholders (“tailgate”).  Who can afford to place a security guard at every entrance in the building?

So we built Cloudastructure to make buildings smarter than people.

Cloudastructure moves access control and video surveillance into the cloud for a new level of security.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

No need to rip and replace, Cloudastructure works with existing infrastructure, doors and cameras are re-used.

Computer Vision: tag all videos so you can search for “person”, “animal”, “backpack”, “weapon”, etc.

Tailgate detection: one badge = one person allowed in.

Face Recognition: Cloudastructure studies faces at Access Control points (when you swipe your badge).  Over time, Cloudastructure learns more and more about each face to better identify each individual in a multitude of situations, including:

  • Various lighting
  • Changing hair styles
  • Whether or not the person is wearing glasses or has a beard
  • Changing apparel (hats, etc.)

Problems With
On-Premises Solutions

On-premises solutions suffer from key problems:

  • They are both physically and network insecure (just look at the Target data breach of 2013)
  • They scale poorly
  • Require dedicated security and IT staff to maintain

Humans are also needed to make sure that only one person enters per badge swipe and that your face matches your badge.

With so many issues, we knew it was time to disrupt these aging solutions and bring innovation to video surveillance and access control.

The Ultimate Solution

Cloudastructure uses AI and cloud based services to provide access control and video surveillance.

The brains are in the Cloud, but we provide two onsite devices to make it work:

These devices talk to the cameras/doors and move their data to the cloud.  They also provide standard functionality onsite if broadband is down.

Once in the cloud, Cloudastructure runs computer vision on every file uploaded to tag it for every object seen in the video.  This way you can search for “person” or “vehicle” or “weapon”...

You badge in, we see your face.  Our solution detects faces and trains from the corresponding badge swipes.
