With energy costs expected to double in the next decade, my idea would produce a scalable line of sustainable, affordable, imaginative, multi-purpose LED lights to cut the costs of lighting a residential, industrial or commercial space. In concept, these are true, 21st century lights. They do not replace incandescents or fluorescents, but they provide a powerful alternative-- cheaper, efficient, stylish, geekish, and stable.

Incandescent and fluorescent lights are too expensive to sustain in the long run. LEDS are stable, adaptable, and last longer than other lighting sources. The expense is currently high, but coming down as technology improves. My concept is to develop a line of scalable, multi-purpose LED lights that will change the way we think of a light, and how we use it.

The Advanced Technology Lab at the University of Massachusetts/Dartmouth has offered to help me build a prototype. I need your help to get this patent off the ground. Please contribute and be a part of history. I will demonstrate  the proof-of-concept, in return.

The idea represented here has broad application to three large markets; residential, industrial and commercial. Thank you for your consideration. 

Mr. Delany was educated at the Rhode Island School of Design. He has been a practitioner in the graphic design and art industry all career-long. Began his career bringing new products to market for large companies (J&J/Canada, Dupont, others). Owned and operated his design firm in Providence, RI for many years before moving to Boston where he served as Creative Director for Arthur D. Little, Inc. (Global business/science think-tank), and later, Director of Creative Services for a venture capitalized technology start-up in the eMail marketing sector. Work is in many corporate and private collections including the National Monument at Ellis Island, the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian's National Medical Archive, the Reagan and Iacocca collections, and the graphic design collection of the Museum of Modern Art, NYC. Mr. Delany has taught Industrial Design at RISD, and serves as an adjunct instructor at the New England Institute of Technology. Currently, he is undertaking a new series of paintings of Newport, RI.
