At Apex Pet Foods we are creating a premium line of holistic dog food and treats, proudly manufactured in South Carolina. Many of the dog food brands today use fillers such as corn, wheat, or soy to keep down costs. Because a dog’s diet is not naturally based around these fillers, many dogs have developed allergies and problems with digestion and coat. Our mission is to manufacture holistic dog foods and treats that are the pinnacle of pet nutrition.

Those of us at Apex have been in pet supply retail for over two decades. In that time we have seen many great companies emerge whose products are something pet owners had a lot of faith in. To our dismay, when these companies were bought by large conglomerates, profit margins took center stage and the product's quality quickly decreased. At Apex, we wanted to create a product that would continue to maintain quality and put pets and their owners first.

Apex was born as a product that we could believe in; it has grown to be a product pet owners can trust.

Chicken/Rice – Fresh chicken is the #1 ingredient in our original holistic chicken and rice formula. This formula contains Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, as well as other essential fats and oils for a healthy skin and coat. We’ve also added glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate to support the structure and function of your dog’s joints.

Lamb/Rice – This formula is one of our two originals and is an excellent choice for sensitive skin and stomachs. Formulated to reduce shedding, Lamb & Rice also contains glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate to support the structure and function of your dog’s joints.

Salmon/Potato – This is our newest Apex formula, using salmon as the #1 ingredient and Menhaden fish meal as the #2 ingredient. This formula is great for skin and coat health, as well as the support of your dog’s joint structure and function.

Since we began selling Apex Pet Foods in 2007, we have seen incredibly positive reactions to our product – we can’t seem to keep enough inventory in our warehouse!

• Apex is already stocked in several Ace Hardware and True Value stores in the Charleston, SC market. We are currently exploring opportunities to distribute regionally and nationally with these chains.

• We have recently signed distributors in Charleston, SC, Tallahassee, FL, and Tampa, FL..

• International interest exists in Poland, Colombia, and several other European and South American countries..

• Apex Pet Foods flies off the shelves of the pet supply stores owned by Apex co-founders, Mark Dixon and Sammy Wullner.

• We are the official food of The Citadel Bulldogs' mascots. 

Mark is a graduate of the University of South Carolina in Marketing. He opened his first retail pet supply store in 1992, and then went on to co-found a pet supply distribution company in 1996 and Apex Pet Foods, LLC. in 2007. Mark is now part-owner of two retail pet stores in South Carolina and is co-owner of Apex Pet Foods.

Sammy graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Business in Accounting. He was employed by SCANA, a Fortune 500 public utility, for 13 years in a variety of positions, including research analyst, budget analyst, forecast analyst, and customer service management. Sammy is now part owner of two retail pet stores in South Carolina and is co-owner of Apex Pet Foods, LLC.

Patrick is a retired USAF controller. He was the director for Deloitte Consulting in Iraq and Afghanistan where he provided activity-based cost analysis for the FBI Director of Operations and the International Resources Group in Pakistan.
