Most of the “healthy” fruit juice drinks we love are actually loaded with sugar and additives, especially the very dangerous high fructose corn syrup.  Even those sport drinks that aid in athletic performance – like Gatorade and PowerAde – are cancelling out the benefits by adding sugar (14 grams in 8 ounces of Gatorade).  The fruity beverages we love are prime culprits in what has become an unhealthy society.

We’re wising up, though.  Consumer education in this area has picked up as more and more consumers are seeking out natural and healthy alternatives to satiate their post-exercise and “fruit-on-the-go” needs.  But it’s not that easy.  Finding a flavorful, healthy, natural beverage that people of all ages can enjoy has proved extremely difficult.

Because carrying a watermelon around all day may get a bit tiresome, we’ve developed a way for people to “drink” their favorite fruity snack all year round.  AquaMelon is a convenient, delicious, and above all healthy alternative to similar fruit beverages on the market.

“E-double-A” is what we like to call the science behind our amazing beverage.  Each sip has a healthy amount of naturally occurring Electrolytes, Amino Acids, and Antioxidants to optimize your everyday performance.  As for sugar?  Every AquaMelon bottle has 30-50% less sugar, as well as calories and carbohydrates, than other fruit juice products – without sacrificing taste.

AquaMelon has crafted 3 Florida-inspired flavors to deliver you that healthy goodness: Best Harvest, Cabana Breeze, and Miami Mist.  Have a sophisticated palate?  Easily add real coconut water, mint and lime to our beverages for a little extra punch.

Other juice making processes either destroy the yummy fruit flavors altogether or replace them with sugar and other bad stuff.  So how do we reach that perfect balance?  Cold-pressing, baby.

Cold-pressing, however, uses high pressured processing to neutralize the microbes that cause juice to spoil.  So, we avoid destroying the taste and health benefits without adding any artificial ingredients.  Now that’s some useful science.

We also say no to GMOs – or plants or animals that have undergone gene altering to develop certain traits.  This process changes the composition and flavor of fruits and vegetables.

•  Desmond “Dez” Williams is the Founder, CEO and CMO of AquaMelon.  Dez is a University of South Florida Graduate from the MUMA College of Business. Formerly at Arcadis Engineering-US Inc, Altria Group Inc, and the U.S. Coast Guard.

•  Joseph Hunter is a Co-founder and COO. A U.S. Coast Guard Academy Graduate and Coast Guard Aviator #4356, and a MLT Fellow..

•  Vincent Della Rocca is CFO. He is Finance Executive and Founder of Prepared Insurance Company and a Cornell University Graduate.

•  Ashley Auguste is a Co-Founder and CAO. A University of South Florida Graduate, M.S., she also works for Veterans Administration Health and Wellness.
