The AVaStar platform arose from the team of Jeff Loether and Eric Bracht, who together have over 60 years of world-wide experience designing, managing, operating, and maintaining hotel AV systems. The needs of the various stakeholders are all addressed with this solution, from the perspective of clients' advocates.


After serving as Marriott's Manager of AV Design for ten years, (1980-1990) Jeff founded Electro-Media Design, Ltd. (EMD).

Jeff  has led this consulting firm through over 1,000 engagements for global hotel clients over the past 29 years.

Jeff and the EMD Team authored the Global Maser Design Standards for Fairmont, Marriott, Hyatt, Hard Rock, Four Seasons, Loews, and many other brands and industry trade associations.

Jeff received many industry awards and is a recognized thought leader in hotel event and entertainment technology and design.


Eric has nearly 20 years of technology services operational experience, managing self-operated services in Marriott hotels in Nashville, Atlanta and Orlando, including serving as Director of Event Technology for the largest Marriott in the world, managing a team of over 30 associates including managers, supervisors, specialists and AV Technicians.

Eric joined Electro-Media Design in 2009 and developed the AV Operations Management Consulting practice.

AVaStar is an expansion of that initiative.

Eric received the IACC Award for Excellence in 2017 for his leadership in education and services to the industry.
