With the help of the internet, car buyers are more informed and more equipped to get a fair offer on the car they want than ever before. Yet the traditional car-buying process remains complicated and time-consuming, and car buyers are dissatisfied with the onsite dealer experience.

Despite car buyers knowing exactly what they want and how much they’re willing to pay, dealers are skilled salesmen with the ability to steer prices beyond the buyer’s budget. Dealers often focus on securing a sale and squeezing every margin rather than putting customer service and experience first. 

On competing platforms, such as TrueCar, car listings are often not up-to-date; A buyer may arrive at the dealership only to find that the car they want is not available.

Buyers are also always required to share contact information to see the invoice and “special” price. These generating platforms then share this information with dealers in their network, leading to unwanted spam emails and phone calls from multiple dealers trying to sell the single customer the same car.

Car buyers and dealerships need a better way to adapt to the digital world. CarBevy’s efficient and competitive reverse auction process will increase sales for the dealers, as well as provide car buyers with a stress-free car buying experience.

On the dealers’ end, the car selling process is made lengthy and complicated by expensive yet low-quality leads with low conversion ratios.

Competing platforms are not accountable to the dealerships and are able to make money off selling every lead, even if the leads end up going nowhere.

Car dealers often have access to only a small geographic area of customers which limit their sales potential. Unable to get cars off of the lot, car dealers face high floor financing and inventory storage expenses that negatively impact their bottom-line.

CarBevy is a unified solution that simplifies the car buying process for both car buyers and dealerships all on a single platform.

For Buyers, CarBevy simplifies the car buying process to three easy steps:

CarBevy allows the buyer to take full control of their budget and let the dealer earn their business. CarBevy allows buyers to remain anonymous until their deal is finalized, reducing unwanted spam calls and emails. With real-time inventory data, customers can be sure that the car they want is available.

For Dealers, CarBevy reduces car dealer’s marketing expenses as they only pay commission on sales, not leads. Our platform increases unsolicited offers and reduces inventory turnover time resulting in more sales, increasing the probability of meeting monthly sales targets and receiving Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) incentives, rebates and bonuses.

How CarBevy Works

CarBevy has a strategic partnership with HomeNet that keeps track of CarBevy’s dealers’ inventory data in real-time, allowing car buyers to select their car from our platform with guaranteed availability. With the customer making the first move, CarBevy ensures the anonymity of our users until they are matched with a single dealership and ready to finalize their purchase. 

Car dealerships on Carbevy can either accept or reject the offer from the customer. When the offer is accepted, the dealer and buyer are “matched” to finalize the process. The customer then pays a refundable deposit to hold the car on CarBevy.

If none of the dealers accepts the car buyer’s initial offer, the dealers may make a “best price” and final counter-offer to the customer to accept or reject. This process creates urgency, keeps haggling to a minimum and saves time for both car buyers and dealers.

CarBevy adds further transparency by aggregating dealers’ and OEMs’ incentives and bonus to calculate a CarBevy price. Car buyers can use our “buy now” feature to purchase a car based on this CarBevy price.

The CarBevy dashboard allows car buyers and dealerships to track the process at every step, adding more transparency for the buyers and allowing dealerships to utilize historical transaction data to improve their sales.

CarBevy Traction by the Numbers

Product. CarBevy was launched for pre-marketing Beta testing in December 2020. The soft launch of our revised product is scheduled for the end of March 2021. 

Partnerships. CarBevy is partnered with five automotive companies and 15 dealerships representing over seven new car brands, namely Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Hyundai, Kia and Mazda, and over twenty used car brands.

Community. Our platform has over 50 registered users and ten customer offers made. Our social media have attracted over 400 followers and we have achieved 1,000+ unique web visitors.

Fundraising. We have raised over $300,000 in funding to date.

Our Story

In December 2019, CarBevy’s co-founder and CEO Joseph Wirija began his search for a new car. He poured several hours into researching the best car for his needs and a price that fits his budget.

As a busy working professional with limited time, Joe didn’t want to be stuck at the dealership for days on end when he could instead be spending time with his family. 

After emailing a number of dealers about his chosen car, all of them initially rejected his price offer and urged him to visit the dealerships to close the deal. After several weeks of correspondences with three dealers, all of them finally agreed on his initial price offer. It was a waste of time!

Realizing it had taken him several weeks of stressful and uncomfortable haggling only to end up with his original offer, Joe set out to develop a platform that would eliminate the stress of buying a car and allow dealers to sell more cars more efficiently. With the help of co-founder and CTO, Hemant Jain, CarBevy was born.

Joseph Wirija, CO-FOUNDER AND CEO | Joe Wirija leads CarBevy’s strategic direction, enterprise relationships and business development. Joe brings a unique blend of leadership, sales and strategy abilities and over a decade of Investment Banking experience. 

Hemant Jain, CO-FOUNDER AND CTO | Hemant oversees CarBevy’s fundraising operations and drives all things technology. Hemant has over fifteen years of experience in computer programming and technology development in the auto industry.

Rupu Sharma, HEAD OF PRODUCT | Rupu has over a decade of experience in launching products for startups to Fortune 100 companies.
 

Jason Hawks, ADVISOR | Jason is responsible for advising CarBevy on its revenue-generation strategy and execution and dealer partnership activities. He brings two decades of experience in the technology sector, retail automotive and sports management.
