CERBERARM: FAST FACTS

Cerberarm is the creator of the TSC1000: a multi planar video camera device with two key features: the ability to capture and track multiple angles of the same subject simultaneously, or capture and track two or more subjects at opposite ends of the room simultaneously. Secondly is the ability to assemble a ‘rough cut’ on a multi camera film set for ingestion into any non linear editing system, so when the director says, “cut,” a rough cut is ready for viewing.

These features streamline filmmaking both financially and logistically by enabling complex multi-camera production and post-production to run concurrently.

THE VIDEO
PRODUCTION CHALLENGE

Thanks to widespread global smartphone adoption, creators now have the capability to create original video content that can be broadcast around the world in just a matter of seconds.

This has created a massive influx of amateur & pro videographers looking to make it big through the production of short films, vlogs, live streams, and the like.

Vlogging may be easier, but as many quickly realize, filmmaking isn’t - especially on a one-camera shoot.

A one-camera shoot is...

Of course one can opt for a multi-camera shoot, necessitating more operators, tripods, and real estate, but this is expensive and time consuming, and in the video content capture and production game, time is money.

A NEW FILMMAKING
PERSPECTIVE

The prohibitive costs, logistics, expertise, and time-consuming nature of film-making can be a huge impediment to creativity. Enter Cerberarm and the TSC1000.

The TSC1000 is a three-headed video camera device created for smartphone users, YouTubers, videographers, and pro filmmakers alike. It carries three tripod-borne cameras on telescoping robotic arms with optimally redistributed camera body components.

Its multi-planar design saves money, time, and space by shooting three vantage points while being operated & monitored from one tripod-borne unit, providing the speed advantage of a three-camera shoot with the cost and footprint of a one-camera shoot. With robotic arms driven by machine learning based intelligent-tracking, the creativity of the filmmaker is the only limit.

THE 2-SHOT SIMPLIFIED

In the most basic set up, for example, the master, the angle and reverse angle can be shot in five simultaneous takes instead of fifteen separate takes, and all angles cut together seamlessly on set.

ROUGH CUT ON THE SET

Furthermore, with taps on a tablet, the TSC1000 automatically assembles a rough cut edit on the set while shooting - a huge selling point considering how many videographers dread the time-consuming editing process.

A few more benefits are: the sequence of cuts in the first take of a scene can be replicated automatically till a print take is captured.

Pick-ups, B-roll, and dropped shots in dialogue scenes may become history because we no longer need to wait till post to see if the scene works or if the shots cut together.

All this means that a director at the Video village can oversee edits, and have more control, or hand the entire process off to an assistant editor, if the budget allows.

INGEST & AUTO ASSEMBLE

Finally, in post, the plugin ingests the marked up media into the desktop NLE, and automatically assembles it into the timeline, eliminating hours of tedium.

It’s as simple as shoot, ingest, auto-assemble, repeat.

In one stroke, TSC1000 saves on operator costs, editing costs, and it saves time every step of the way.

Coupled with a smartphone capable of producing high quality 4K video, the TSC1000 could be a game changer for YouTubers, smartphone filmmakers, and professionals - ultimately positioning Cerberam at the top of the digital camera market for decades.

INSIDE TSC1000

The TSC1000’s unique design comprises software and hardware. It has no peers on the market at the present time.  Furthermore, it’s protected by a pending US patent, a US design patent, and ultimately an international PCT Patent.

In other words, the PMS only needs to compile low-resolution proxy files on set - leaving heavy-duty editing of 4K & 8K files to the desktop editing system.  For indie filmmakers, this semi-autonomous editing can help save millions and more than a week on the set.

As for hardware, the TSC1000 carries 3 tripod-borne cameras - 2 on telescoping arms with redistributed components - to provide a multi-planar advantage.  The cameras are supported by satellite pods built with carbon fiber alloy that can handle many lens types.

Each unit also contains “The Hub” - a modular, future-proof USB 3.1 hub that connects a power bank, an SSD, XLR inputs, and TRS connectors. Manual or robotic telescoping extension arms link the satellite cameras to The Hub, feeding data, power, and media.

All of these software and hardware components come together neatly to create the base version of the TSC1000.  Spawning from this, we’ve created a line of five different models designed to suit the full spectrum of users: two light models, LT1 & LT2, Indie models, ND1, ND2, & ND2a, and the PRO.

GAINING MOMENTUM

Early strides made on the business development end include the formation of a high quality manufacturing network, which is in place to cover every element of our solution.  The primary players include:

Software outsourced to California-based Appster, a top-five firm who we will work hand-in-hand with to create an MVP

Hardware components outsourced to Shenzhen-based manufacturer SEEED, a one-stop crowdfunding concept-to-pledge-delivery company with a Kickstarter pledge delivery record of 139 projects and counting
Research and Development for the physical prototypes POC to DFM and production prototypes will be done in-house

We’re also gaining traction on the intellectual property end.  Initial patents have been filed with more on the way - including an International PCT covering 152 countries.
