CREATING SHAREABLE MOMENTS

Consumers increasingly expect access to sharable, bespoke food content that creates unforgettable experiences, but traditional food manufacturing methods have high costs, low originality, and limited distribution.

And it’s not just consumers – chefs and marketing professionals are looking for innovative ways to bring their culinary visions to life with food that doesn’t simply get eaten but builds connections and makes a lasting impact.

3D design and 3D printing are the future of bespoke food because they offer unprecedented and unmatched potential to create shareable, colorful, fun, and engaging new shapes and designs that are delicious and healthy.

Here’s how we help everyone from foodies to chefs create, connect and inspire:

PIONEERING 3D PRINTED FOOD
SHAREABLE BY DESIGN

Currant 3D creates innovative 3D printed foods that are beautiful, colorful, delicious, and shareable by design.

Through our Sugar Lab online marketplace, we empower anyone to make their own culinary creations with easy access to original, customizable, 3D printed food concepts. We work with the most talented chefs around the world to cloud manufacture these unique food designs and deliver them directly to your door -- and to live events, restaurants, retail sites and resorts around the country.

Currant 3D is also going beyond retail by licensing and publishing scalable digital food solutions from our cloud database of 3D food content and workflows.

So whether it’s to inspire at an event or power an entire business, our services can scale to reach growing new audiences thanks to this extensive database – along with a growing network of ghost kitchens across the U.S.

Our technology operates at unprecedented speeds--we can 3D print some objects in under a minute, up to 1,000 simultaneously, and regularly ship 20,000 units for a single event--all in full-color.

HOW IT WORKS

Currant 3D is the first and largest on-demand 3D printing service for food. Using dehydrated ingredients, expert digital design, and culinary 3D printers, we create customized, innovative foods directly from the cloud.

We’re already 3D printing foods using dozens of ingredients, and the platform has unlimited potential to incorporate fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains, liquids, spices and much more.

Not only do we create innovative designs that create more meaningful experiences, but we have the power to help decentralize the entire food production process by sourcing sustainably, transporting efficiently, and 3D printing locally, meaning lower costs, expanded access, and a reduced environmental footprint across the industry.

OUR STORY

As a broke graduate student in architecture, founder and CEO of Currant 3D, Kyle von Hasseln, wanted to bake a cake for his sister’s birthday – but he didn’t have an oven in his tiny apartment, just a fleet of 3D printers where his kitchen should have been.

Kyle got to work on his first 3D printed cake (which would arrive six months late, sorry Chelsea!) and began to realize the huge impact his emerging technology would have on chefs and consumers, and ultimately on sustainable food distribution.

After ten years of refining the technique and making the technology culinary-ready, Currant 3D is now bringing innovative 3D printed foods to retail stores, events and doorsteps across the country.
