A Failed System

Hearing loss is a slow process that usually takes place over the course of many years - making it tricky (and stigmatized) for affected patients to self-diagnose.  This problem is being compounded by what is a growing population of hearing impaired individuals.

This group depends on trusted doctors & primary care providers for diagnosis and referrals to hearing specialists if further treatment is needed.  However, most of these healthcare professionals are choosing not to evaluate new hearing loss patients.

At dB Diagnostics, we aim to revolutionize early hearing loss identification processes through the engagement of non-hearing healthcare providers.

Our solution will allow them to diagnose hearing loss with just 10 minutes in the exam room - as opposed to 30 minutes in an expensive, clunky evaluation booth.

Its foundation is the Hearing Healthcare Pro™ Product Suite, an FDA-cleared software & hardware stack used by medical professionals to diagnose and triage hearing disorders.  It’s the most compact, easy-to-use, and provider-friendly solution available today.

Hearing Healthcare Pro is designed specifically for healthcare providers not normally trained or equipped to provide hearing healthcare.  It helps them overcome historical barriers in order to provide better collective care to the hearing impaired population.

From the start, it’s our goal to improve access and availability for early diagnosis of hearing loss - so that patients have adequate time to acknowledge, accept, and adapt to the change.  We currently do this in three primary ways:

It’s also so portable and cost-effective that providers of any level can test for hearing loss and participate in its diagnosis - essentially eliminating the need for additional office space or a highly trained technician for the majority of patients.  Test outputs include interpretation by the software.

Most of all, our affordable fixed costs and attractive margins will finally motivate providers to test for hearing loss.

Coupled with this improved access is the second goal of our solution: to streamline patients to appropriate hearing providers while improving utilization of resources in a changing healthcare environment.

Our software gets this process in motion by performing a variety of functions, including air conduction pure tone threshold hearing testing, computer simulations of measured hearing loss, tympanometry, physical exam of the ear, and intake of relevant clinical history.

The data generated is then used to develop management recommendations and help clinicians interpret results.  A PDF report is also produced, and can be stored in a cloud-hosted database that can be retrieved at a later date.

Meet The Team

dB Diagnostic Systems was co-founded in 2013 by Steven B. Levine, MD, our CEO & President.  A clinical practicing otolaryngologist with 35 years’ experience, he’s been listed by Castle Connolly as a Top Doctor for 15 consecutive years now.

Dr. Levine is also an Asst. Clinical Professor at Yale University School of Medicine and created HearOPG (a hearing aid retail business consortium), in addition to a variety of other accomplishments in the field.  He’s joined on our team by these skilled executives:
