MOMENTUM
Sennheiser's MOMENTUM headphones are one of its most well-loved active noise cancellation (ANC) headphones. With a solid track record and a competitive price, the MOMENTUM 4 Wireless headphones have strong competition from the newest models from Bose, Sony, and Apple but they have many advantages that make them worth your consideration if you're in the market for ANC headphones.
The earcups have an impressive amount of padding and are designed to fit comfortably over your ears. They also feature soft leatherette material on the top portion of the band, which wraps around your head. I found it comfortable to wear for a long time and the band has enough give to allow glasses to fit and glasses, which is a nice touch.
The MOMENTUM Wireless is a balanced headphone unlike ANC headphones that emphasize bass or highs. This is a good thing because it provides an accurate representation of the music and speech you listen to. They do wander a bit towards the realm of higher frequencies that are boosted however, this is a common trait among headphones aimed at commuters, where ambient noise is likely to compete with low-level music and speech.
The MOMENTUM Wireless' noise reduction is excellent similar to other top performers in the ANC category. It's not quite as good as the top ANC headphones in our test, but it comes close. You can also delay projects by two clicks until the next quarter, making them an excellent choice for school or work.
You can connect the MOMENTUM 4 Wireless to a device via Bluetooth and can choose to use SBC, AAC, aptX, or aptX HD codecs. You can also utilize the headphone's 3.5mm socket to listen to audio sources that don't have Bluetooth support.
The MOMENTUM Wireless comes with a microphone array that allows you to make and take calls. The microphone is adequate, but not the best for phone conversations. It's still superior to microphones on most entry-level headphones, though.
