The Authentication

Fine art is a huge business. Billions of dollars are spent every year, but buyers from across the spectrum, on art pieces that could be two hundred years old, or even more. Unfortunately, over time spans like that, much of the history surrounding works is lost.

This leads to a market where fakes, reproductions and unlicensed bootlegs abound. Many buyers are put off by this uncertainty, and want to know more that simply what artist painted a given piece; they want to understand its whole history, its unique narrative.

Because art is much more than simply what you see in its frame. Each piece of art tracks a perilous journey from the easel of its creator onto the wall of its eventual owner. Wars, disasters, changing borders and other human confusion add a depth to this texture.

People interested in high-end art are as fascinated by the stories behind great works as the works themselves. However, sadly, most dealers and brokers don’t devote enough time and energy to ferreting out the compete, unabridged histories of the pieces they sell.

Meet The Team

Co-founder Daniel Fuchs has more than 25 years of experience in the antique and fine arts world. Daniel had the opportunity to own and manage several stores in Barcelona, San Juan, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro and Montevideo.

He is an internationally-known reference in fine art and communicates daily with the directors of the fine arts painting departments of US and European auction houses.

Co-founder Paul Fuchs is a professional Business Director with over 15 years of marketing and finance experience. He has worked as a sales, product and marketing director for tech companies such as Blackberry, Rogers and TELUS.

Provenance Manager Sofia Anselmi has been our Provenance Manager for over 15 years and leads our analysis of each piece of art. She has a broad network of direct contacts with different museums, foundations, historians and well-recognized scholars.

Satellite offices: Each satellite office is represented by dedicated experts enmeshed in the local art history scene and the current, regional, art market for their area.
