Visualitics Tiles
We create visual “big data” analytic representations of business objects called Visualitics tiles. Visualitics tiles enable business operators, investors and lenders discover and analyze business assets and attributes more efficiently and effectively than alternative methods. Visualitics tiles bring together data from any source — public, commercial, human, machine, IoT, etc. — to answer key business questions about a company's products, assets, marketplaces and geographies within a single visual view. Visualitics tiles are always-up-to-date, interactive, discoverable and shareable.

Product Development & Customer Acceptance
Our technology has been developed and we have achieved commercial viability, with dozens of customers paying for our products. With additional funding, we intend to make our platform available on the public Internet.

Patents/IP
We have over 10 billion data links not accessible from the public Internet and a semantic data model that can be applied to any business sector. We also have a patent on the second phase meta-data transformation.

Data Partnerships
We’ve established third-party partners from whom we receive data. Our platform and service makes their information more discoverable, valuable and useful — so much so that we don’t have to pay for the data.

Distribution Partnerships
A key part of our growth strategy is third-party distribution of our platform through partners to their customers and employees.  We have validated our sales and marketing strategy with the signing of our first distribution partner - a service provider to 250 hedge funds.  We have a robust pipeline of additional opportunities.

Harry Blount | Founder + CEO | Investment research industry veteran Harry Blount formed the DISCERN founding team, building on more than 30 years of executive and financial experience on Wall Street, including senior roles at Lehman Brothers, Credit Suisse First Boston, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette, and CIBC Oppenheimer. Harry has been named an Institutional Investor All-American in both Information Technology Hardware and Internet Infrastructure Services, and The Wall Street Journal has recognized him as an All-Star covering the Computer Hardware sector. Harry also lent his expertise to the National Academy of Sciences, where he served as a member of the Committee for Forecasting Future Disruptive Technologies; and to The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, where he chaired the Futures Committee. Harry currently serves on the board of directors of The Commonwealth Club of California. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in 1986 with a B.S. in Finance.



James Christie | Head of Product | James Christie brings 10+ years of product and business experience to DISCERN. Prior to joining DISCERN, Jim led business intelligence and advertising operations at Blinkx Video where he managed geographically distributed AdOps teams and exceeded revenue targets for the video business unit in six consecutive quarters. Jim also served as the scrum master and team leader at Blinkx desktop, where he oversaw the content team, the overhaul of the firm’s product and created and maintained the product roadmap. Prior to Blinkx, Jim was the operations specialist for Shoplocal, where he oversaw 30 account relationships and managed the data entry operations team. Jim has a BS – Computer & Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.



Sanjay Agarwal | Chief Data Scientist | Sanjay deploys Deep Learning & Machine Learning for extracting insights from Industrial-IoT and financial datasets. He performs modeling and analysis using CNN, RNN, and LSTM for time series data streams, and is developing the big-data analytics platform being deployed on AWS. Sanjay also builds signals back-testing modeling and infrastructure for the SaaS Platform. Prior to DISCERN, Sanjay held senior data and engineering roles at Petzilla and Qualcomm where he worked on the integration of cloud connectivity, sensors, edge machine learning.  He was also the lead engineer of an SoC design.



Troy Hansen | Director Data Integrity & Enhancement | Troy has 30+ years as a System and Quality Assurance Engineer. Prior to joining DISCERN, he worked for General Dynamics, where he was responsible for system level acceptance testing for two major satellite constellations. Troy has held  senior engineering positions at Motorola, Xerox, GE Medical, and Fisher Rosemount. Troy is an avid options and commodity trader specializing in gold securities.
