The mission of eMusea is to permit collectors to share their passion for collecting with other like-minded individuals and provide a simple, flexible, web-based display venue for them to do so. They will also be able to access this content on tablets and smart phones.  It is the aim of this same mechanism to make it possible for visitors to enter a virtual museum to search and discover the stuff that makes the world a place of beauty and wonder for human beings.  EMusea provides a social media environment where people will share opinions, insights, experiences, and perspectives with one another.  This will in turn provide a venue and a mechanism for companies that advertise to communicate their wares and services to the world utilizing targeted marketing and advertising.

EMusea will provide a virtual collection museum with multiple display templates which will be responsive to the varying nature of peoples' collections as well as the varying characteristics of their collectibles. EMusea will also be a community whereby collectors and visitors will be able to share their ideas, thoughts and love of collecting with other like-minded people all at no cost.

An alpha website has been developed at www.emusea.com/beta as a precursor for a fully functioning beta site.  This preliminary site demonstrates both the Classic side and the Commercial side with both totally wrapped around fully functioning social features. Multiple collecting clubs have been contacted and have indicated a desire to consider participating in eMusea after they see a functioning beta site. 

Collecting clubs and their members as well as collectors in general share their collections on a limited basis with fellow collectors. But there is no global, digital platform for collectors to display their collections for all to view, appreciate and interact with one another, i.e. to utilize focused social media. Further, the eMusea concept has been validated by communication with a handful of collecting clubs including the American Topical Association, Chicagoland Lionel Railroad Club, American Philatelic Society and others.
