FLASH Scientific Technology: Fast Facts

FLASH is a weather analytics company whose cornerstone product is a lightening prediction application that gives users 15 to 25 minutes lead time on the impending first strike from a thunderstorm with up to a 99% accuracy. It is also able to predict the last strike giving users the all clear to resume outdoor activities. This same algorithm is being applied to other products such as tornado, wind and hail prediction giving advance notice in the 1-to-3-hour timeframe.

Lightning Continues To Baffle
When should you seek shelter? When can you resume normal activity?

There is also NO current way of determining when conditions are safe to resume normal activities. Current practices state 30 minutes after the last thunder is heard but this has proven to be highly unreliable and led to many more injuries and deaths due to its inaccuracies.

In addition, the economic impact of lightening delays is in the hundreds of millions of dollars per year per airline. Even worse, airports such as Atlanta Hartsfield see additional impacts. A ground stoppage due to lightning has proven to cost in excess of $1 million for every 30-minute period.

FLASH Changes Everything

Traction & Accomplishments

Lead software engineer and software firm are in a six-week sprint to produce version 2 of the software that will feature a callable API across the United States for lightning prediction and lightning cessation.

We have a demo version currently that can produce lightening predictions on both real-time and historical datasets.

We have provided demos and/or had high-level talks with Spirit Airlines, NetJets, Troone Golf, GolfNow, Ambee Weather, PGA Tour, Tennessee Parks and Rec, and Georgia Power.
