In August of 2010, a US Utility Patent was issued for FlipCase's unique hinge system.  Also, two foreign patents have been issued in 2012.  Since FlipCase has major global implications, it was very important to try to secure foreign patents in addition to the US patent.  FlipCase is a Registered Trademark in the US.

Personal investment was not only put into the patenting process but has also been dedicated to the design and engineering of the hinge system and prototyping of the hard and soft case designs. 

We are raising money on Fundable to help cover the tooling costs for the hinges.  RFQs have been obtained and US manufacturing companies are lined up and ready to go as soon as funds are secured.   

An idea born in our living room!

Yes, that's true, as so many ideas are...my husband was watching me carry my laptop on my hand from room to room and suggested that I find something that will let me suspend my laptop in front of me, "like the cigarette ladies".   I did search the internet for such an item and found that nothing existed.  Recognizing that this is a problem for many individuals that commute or work in the field, we began developing a concept. 

Patent searches, patent applications, crude prototype building, better prototype building, design and engineering experts consulted, etc.  brings us to where we are today. 

Our team consists of myself, Stacey Mitchell and my husband, Kevin Mitchell.  We bring over 17 years of experience from owning and operating a successful small business in our community and employing up to a dozen people.  Our small service business was closed in late 2011 due to extensive damage suffered from a neighboring fire. 

Since then, we have devoted all time and energy into bringing FlipCase to market.
