Small business owner James Lyon struggled to find a proper way to advertise online. He looked to Groupon (which seemed to have cornered the deals market) but quickly discovered that it was a loss leader for any business that signed up.

This was on par with his own personal experiences: when presenting a Groupon, he often felt that the business owner was cringing inside. That's when he got an idea: build a better way for small businesses to advertise online and offer outstanding deals without having to pay such a heavy price.

And let's be honest: few small business owners have the time or technical skills to manage campaigns using Google Adwords or Facebook Ads.

Similar platforms such as Yelp, Thumbtack, Home Advisor, Angie's List and Groupon can also be very expensive.

Consequently, they'll look to outside agencies that can handle this process for them, leading to massive additional fees.

Many of those agencies charge a hefty fee for leads that don't materialize, costing the business more money.

Gongago solves these problems by making advertising online simple, quick and affordable. Our solution is broken down into two main components:

An online business directory for businesses that are located online, such as an e-commerce store

Local directories for local businesses that maintain a brick-and-mortar location or provide a local service

  • Local businesses can advertise for free or upgrade or become featured
  • There is no free option available for online businesses

Getting started is easy. Business owners can get up and running quickly and painlessly by first registering on Gongago. From there they can fill out a short form that allows them to add their company to one of our directories and advertise on our platform. Businesses can easily add deals to their listings, allowing them to attract customers and expand their reach. In fact, they can manage their listing at all times from an account dashboard, making edits or changes at will.

They can also start and stop any promotions at any time. Gongago will help promote deals a business provides with no additional costs to the business.

Listings are active for one year (once reviewed and payment has been processed) and may be renewed each year thereafter. This creates a source of recurring revenue for Gongago.

When looking for deals, user can sort through business listings by those that are offering a deal, making it more attractive for businesses to do so. Gongago will also sell a monthly premium placement service, offering greater exposure to those offering a deal. This add-on brings premium placement to the online homepage (or a local site's home page) for even greater exposure for the business.

Better still, businesses are able to view analytics in their account dashboard to see how many clicks their listing has received. This allows them to monitor the success of their promotions. As Gongago grows we plan to add additional ways for businesses to connect with customers and build on their incredible loyalty.

TRACTION & ACCOMPLISHMENTS

We initially launched in early 2016 with one local city directory. We now have directories for 45 major cities in the US, as well as a directory for online businesses. We have also added an events page for local cities and community forums.

 Nearly 400 local and online small businesses have listed on Gongago   since 2016. Traffic has also grown very rapidly, attaining 91,000+ unique   site visitors with 59,000 of those in the last year alone - more than double that of the previous two years combined!

Currently, traffic (for the previous 3 months) is on pace to average 100,000 visitors per year - nearly 2.5 x the prior year (8.3.19). Our Pinterest page is currently receiving over 100,000 views per month (over a million per year). Best of all, this traffic is organic and non-paid.

  Gongago's main Facebook page and group have close to 3,000 followers,    plus another 3,500+ more followers in its local Facebook pages.

Gongago has formed a strategic partnership with Armani Williams, NASCAR's first openly autistic driver, after he approached our company.
