HigherTree Interpersonal Academy is more than a forum for soft-skills training. It is an enhancement to the current movement towards interpersonal evolution in a nonjudgemental and embracing forum for individuals, their families, and workplaces. It is, in short, the expansion of Emotional Freedom.

Our audience is anyone whose ever felt the slightest grapple with emotional situations, including conflict, internal discomfort, relationship struggles at home or at work as well as those that desire a proactive movement towards emotional mastery. We are here to serve those that are not in need of mental health treatment; those that are moving from good to best. We serve those that desire and choose to live in complete emotional well-being. We provide a unique forum specifically for them by offering a structured proactive approach with specializations for couples, parents, and organizations.

Our society has advanced greatly in terms of technology and we feel that in order to advance wholly we must become more socially and emotionally aware as a community. The proactive development of this in our homes, our schools, our communities, we propel humanity into unparalleled advancement. 

HigherTree encourages a forum for individuals to tap into their emotional skills and to develop the tools needed to navigate changes prior to any crisis. We have developed a proactive self-directed continuous approach and curriculum to guide overall emotional well-being in the home, the workplace, and in relationships.

Our niche is purely interpersonal with the goal of holistic overall emotional well-being.  

Current industry trends have begun to focus on the value of interpersonal skills -- this is good! Companies are cropping up all over the place that are emotional intelligence focused. This provides an arena for what we offer.

Happify, BodiMojo, and Emotional Intelligence Training Company are three movements similar to HigherTree. However, the major opportunities we have over all three is our in-person delivery system, holistic application, workbooks, social awareness youth programs, and in-depth reflective content that delivers an impactful, and lasting experience.

Buzzwords like EQ, emotional awareness, mindful practice, transpersonal psychology, positive psychology, and transcendental meditation have made a huge recent presence in our society. Eastern wisdom meeting Western delivery modes have made it a more welcoming platform for non-traditional well-being support than previously.

Although the market is large and is continuously growing, there is a large gap in certain areas of the country where education and practices like this have not reached. States like California or New York may have saturated markets, but southern and midwest states still have room for growth and offer a wider market for HigherTree.

All of society could benefit from our innovation: children, parents, couples, organizations could all use emotional interpersonal education as we all interact with each other every day. However, those most likely to utilize services such as this on an individual basis would be: 

Their lifestyle trends tend to focus on eastern studies, self-help and self-improvement education, income ranges are upwards of $60,000, stable employment, educational level of a bachelor's degree and above, active on social media yet spend a lot of time reading as well.

Mary is a client of a social services government provider. Her social services agent is in need of an intervention program to help complement the department’s efforts. HigherTree Interpersonal Academy provides partner services through the implementation of the Alive and Well series for the department’s clients who are coached and provided with action plans that minimize their usage of the social services resources while preparing them for long-term success.

John’s company has been experiencing high turnover due to employee dissatisfaction. He decides to procure the training and assessment services of HigherTree Interpersonal Academy. We conduct a thorough needs analysis to pinpoint the area of impact and provide emotionally focused training for employer and employees as needed. Turnover is reduced and morale is increased.

HigherTree Interpersonal Academy just launched in August 2015.

In that short time, we’ve already experienced two big partnerships: One with The Department of Human Services where HigherTree delivered coaching to non-compliant clients and another to a staffing agency. We anticipate another partnership with an educational training center to finalize soon as well.

Up next: In general, the next step is to acquire customers and achieve scale. We intend to advertise through social media outlets like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, conduct B2B sales, attend business fairs, job fairs, and community events and fairs. We will list ourselves in Yelp, Yellow Pages, and Google. We also need to hire, train, and certify more trainers who will then be matched with clients based on best fit.

From a product development standpoint, we want to develop an app to support take home individual coaching exercises so that our clients feel completely supported in their self work. We also plan to package the Alive and Well program with DVDs, CDs, reading material, and a workbook.

Our Founder and CEO Oshetha is what most people would consider an empath, a person who is extremely hypersensitive to the emotions of others. This led her to become more and more aware of how people avoid addressing emotions, sharing emotions, or performing any in-depth analysis of their emotions. She wanted to create a light-hearted nonjudgmental forum where individuals could become educated about their emotions and how to manage and use them for success. She wanted to do this on a much deeper than superficial level combining humor and laughter. And so HigherTree was born.

As CEO, Oshetha manages the day-to-day activities of the company. As an tender-hearted introvert, she has been a one woman band until now, except in the area of instruction. She writes and researches the best curriculum to use, handles all vendor transactions, make sales calls, and coaches. She also vets and selects new coaches and trains them to deliver a HigherTree level of service in their area of expertise.

Oshetha has 25 years of experience working and volunteering for various causes and agencies within the mental health industry and social services arena. Within the last five years, she's brought her expertise and passion to corporations as a professional coach and trainer. She is a community advocate for family violence intervention, youth psychosocial education, the end of sexual abuse, and a facilitator of CUT IT OUT domestic violence training for salon professionals. She is the co-author of Transform Your Life Series, and holds a B.A. in Psychology, M.A. in Organizational Management, and is currently completing an M.S. in Clinical/Counseling Psychology.

Handles the teen coordination functions of BE ME or BE Mindful and Empathetic. She has been a voice for all teens who've experienced bullying and peer pressure since middle school. Now as a high school sophomore she's a light for a new advocacy: one that encourages uniqueness, self acceptance, and empathy. 

Greg's over 18 years of team building in various highly successful organizations has given him many unique ways to reach, connect, develop, and motivate individuals and groups alike. His curiosity about how things "tick" Is the driving force behind his passion. He states, "Understanding the emotions of those around me, first began with my journey of understanding my own, allowing me to connect in ways that truly ignited change and continuous improvement. In the workplace the concept of feeling and empathy has taken a back seat, however it is of essential importance to leadership and team building and creating a forum where it can exist is at the forefront of a leading organization."
