True Inspired Visions, a limited liability corporation, is establishing Inspiration Locs-N-Cutz (a start-up natural hair salon and barbershop) that will begin operations in Winter 2014. The Company, to be located in PG County, Maryland, will fill the void of strictly professional salon environments that provide natural styling, hair care, and barbering services. The upscale vibe of Inspirations will provide clients with a trendy family environment that will promote relaxation and beautification.

Inspiration will provide natural hair care services. In this day and age, women are motivated and excited about exploring ways of maintaining their natural hair. With curl patterns ranging from over-curly to wavy hair, many women have expressed frustration because they were never correctly taught how to care for and accept their God-given texture of hair. Because of this, they have resorted to relaxing their hair, which is a chemical treatment that breaks down essential bonds within the hair follicle, that if not properly cared for, causes irreversible damage as well as alopecia (permanent hair loss). Our products and services will include items that stimulate an understanding in women of how to create and care for healthy natural hair.

Inspiration Locs-N-Cutz is a partnership owned by Kenithia Montgomery and Darah S. Crutcher. Ms. Montgomery is a full-time licensed cosmetologist. She previously held positions as a salon manager at salons, braiding and barber shops. Ms. Montgomery received her cosmetology license in 1996 from Washington DC Beauty Academy. In 2010, she graduated from Bennett Career Institutes' barber-styling course and is currently attending for her cosmetology instructor’s license: the highest license obtainable in the field of cosmetology. She also taught a barbering course at Maya Angelou High school in Washington, DC.

Ms. Crutcher is a full-time licensed barber-stylist. She graduated from Howard University in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science degree. Ms. Crutcher is a web developer/graphic artist. She is the creator of the team’s brand and provides marketing strategies and branding packages for local salons and businesses.

Kenithia and Darah met in 2009 during their barber-styling course at BCI and became inseparable. Both had dreams of one day opening a professional family-oriented salon of their own. As a team they competed in the annual award-winning Bennett Career Institute Reunion Hair Show and won second place, excelling in such categories as: hair styles, originality, creativity, and overall presentation. Both owners also provided natural hair and barber services for the youth in Oak-Hill Detention Center. Six years later, their dreams have come into fruition. They realize that it is all the work of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and they are just vessels here to serve.
