Thanks to your support we have reached our initial goal of $50,000! This funding has allowed us to purchase the FULL MOON, so we are well on our way. Now we've set our sights on a stretch goal of $75,000, which will allow us to begin restoring this beautiful antique classic motor yacht to its former glory. Our ultimate goal to complete the restoration is $125,000. This spring, Karma Crew Yacht Charters, LLC will be making a splash with a beautiful boat and a unique business concept, providing Bostonians and the city's 12 million yearly tourists a new way to experience the magic of this historic harbor and city. Whether you're seeking a vacation, a staycation or just a couple hours out on the harbor, FULL MOON is the perfect destination for making some maritime memories.

FULL MOON is an antique classic motor yacht designed and built by renowned shipwright, Henry C. Grebe, and was launched in 1949 from his Chicago boatyard. FULL MOON underwent a complete re-fitting in 2005 but needs some cosmetic work from years of neglect and disrepair. For years now, couples, families, and friends have gathered aboard the charming ship but it has so much more potential. 

Approved by the Coast Guard for up to 39 passengers, FULL MOON is perfect for any event, whether you're out for a fun corporate retreat, entertaining clients to close that business deal, for an intimate, romantic wedding or to watch the 4th of July fireworks from the Charles River. 

Catherine Applegate and Captain Michael Murphy formed the Karma Crew, and this spring, will restore the FULL MOON to it's original glory, including finishing the gutted staterooms and updating the galley to create a charming, bed and breakfast. That's right: a B&B at sea!

Catherine Applegate, CEO, began consulting for the previous owner of FULL MOON with sales and marketing last year, she eventually found herself managing back office, logistics, invoicing, social media, PR, and even tended bar on a few charters. This experience has prepared her well for the challenges of founding a new charter business on Boston Harbor.

Catherine is also currently Director of Business Development for Finish Line Staffing and King & Bishop, an HR consulting and talent acquisition firm. The company chartered the yacht last summer for their summer outing while Catherine was working on board. After a 12 year career with the March of Dimes as a top fundraiser, Catherine opened a New England office of her mother's OSHA safety consulting firm in 2002. With no prior experience in safety or construction, sales grew to over $500,000 in 4 years. They sold the company in 2008 and Catherine continued to work with them until 2010 when she sold her 1,400 sq.ft. home and now lives her dream on a 300 sq.ft. houseboat. Captain Michael Murphy, COO, has a lifetime of boating experience and business management. He is an experienced Captain, including for FULL MOON last year, with expertise in the areas of boat handling, navigation, maintenance and repairs with numerous certifications. Additionally his prior experience as an owner of a restaurant and catering business, as well as his six years as a ConDUCKtor of the famous Boston Duck Tours have prepared him for managing a yacht while making sure everyone aboard is having a great time. Captain Michael Murphy oversees all operations, crew and boat maintenance and repairs. 

Michael and Catherine grew up in boating and cherish those memories with their families out on the water. They hope to awaken and create those memories for many others. They run into people all the time that say they dream of living on a boat as they do. Whether for a couple hours, for a weekend or chartering the yacht for a week, the Karma Crew wants to provide people a way to have a unique experience and enjoy life on the harbor. Karma Crew Yacht Charters, LLC will be  a woman-owned charter business on Boston Harbor. Catherine Applegate, is known for making things happen and has had success in a number of industries. Her variety of business experiences provide her a unique perspective that allows for innovative development plans for this new venture. Captain Michael Murphy's past education, training and business experiences will allow him to succeed at the helm of the day to day operation. 

One such plan is to marry the adventurous spirit of FULL MOON with the fun of fashion, creating a shopping experience unlike any other with BOATique 4 a Week,  aboard FULL MOON. Each season, for a week, the ETCETERA collection arrives, and women book personal shopping appointments. Not only will this be an exciting larger venue for clientele, but it will also be an additional revenue stream in the off seasons and excellent exposure for Boston Harbor's newest charter/B&B business.

They also plan to charter the yacht by the week to improve the profitability of the business. Imagine your own captain and crew while you explore the New England coastline or hang out at the dock while having dinner on deck looking out over the harbor.
