Quick Pitch

Le Petit Sports provides innovative sports education programs and age-adapted equipment targeted towards children ages 3-6. It is the first company of its kind to bring together former professional tennis players and athletes, sports experts from France, Belgium and Switzerland, early childhood psychologists and school teachers in the development of sports equipment and education programs for very young children.

Product/Service Details

Sports Education

Le Petit Sports offers easy to use training methodology that shows educators, coaches and parents how to effectively use stories, role play and age adapted equipment to introduce children ages 3-6 to tennis, golf, hockey, soccer and basketball. The child adapted teaching format encourages children to interact, play back and forth with each other, and enjoy the game right from the start.

Age Adapted Equipment

With Le Petit Sports equipment and playing areas tailored to suit their needs and abilities, children will feel confident as soon as they pick up a racquet, a golf club, a hockey stick or a soccer ball. The age adapted equipment enables children to succeed more easily. Le Petit Sports has garnered recognition for it's inflatable "My First Tennis Ball". They also offer the smallest available racquet on the market, specifically geared towards children ages 2-3. Various equipment packages are available for educators/coaches as well as parents.

Traction & Accomplishments

Le Petit Tennis was the first of the Le Petit Sports divisions to be launched (2001) and has grown internationally, reaching over 25 countries through its numerous subsidiaries, licensees and partnerships. Based on the client demand for additional sports training programs, the business expanded to provide training programs and age adapted equipment for golf, hockey, soccer and basketball.

The Le Petit Sports system and business model has proven to be effective for many large corporations and family resort chains such as Club Med and Club Magic Life. They use the system in their childcare centers to provide quality sports introduction to their young clients.

National associations and governing bodies such as the Canadian Tennis Association (Tennis Canada), the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and the Brazilian Tennis Federation (CBT) are now using or endorsing the system or some of its features to reach young children through the interactive stories of Le Petit Sports. In December 2012, Le Petit Sports, in partnership with the Tennis Federation of Myanmar, presented a one day tennis class to 1,000 kids from 15 public and private Yangon schools as part of a wider project designed to boost talent identification and development in tennis.

In its community outreach work, Le Petit Sports has collaborated with large non-profit and non-governmental organizations, including the United Nations, Peace & Sport and Sport 4 Life which use the program’s powerful messages to promote universal core values to underserved children. Le Petit Sports' CEO, Jean-Philippe Fleurian, was recognized by H.I.S Prince Albert of Monaco as a "Champion of Peace" at the 2009 Peace and Sport International Forum for his work in utilizing sports education to reach out to children and rebuild the peace process in post war and insecure zones such as Palestine, Burundi, Cape Town and Port Elisabeth townships.

How We're Different

There is increasing interest and demand from parents for early sports education for their young children ages 3-6. However, many existing youth sports programs cater to older children, have instructors who don't know how to effectively teach very young children, and/or don't have equipment that ensures immediate success. Le Petit Sports fills that gap. The company's ability to provide the combination of a highy successful training methodology plus age adapted equipment has proven to be competitive advantage. Capturing children's attention and interest in sports as well as enabling their success in skills development are dependent upon these factors. Easily accessible, online training curriculum enables anyone, even those without a sports background or experience teaching young children, to be effective early childhood sports instructors. A growing product line of well-made, professionally designed, age adapted sports equipment is now more widely available via the company website www.lepetitsports.com as well as Amazon.com.
