Current Services

NUC’s strategy is to provide value to athletes throughout their football playing life, from youth leagues to the professional ranks.  Table 1 shows the services by stage of a player’s football lifecycle.

With roots in exposure, education, and recruiting tools, NUC is evolving to include apparel, training and leadership services to its customers.  For those draft-eligible college players, NUC will also provide player representation.

In 2014, NUC will hold over 125 events which will culminate with The NUC All-American Gridiron Classic, one of the premiere high school senior All-Star Football Games in the country.  These events draw both repeat and new NUC customers, whose information and combine results are added to NUC’s database, the industry’s largest High School Football database.  Results and information are then provided to college coaches and several marquee recruiting analysts.  These NUC properties are described briefly below.

New Services

Across the NUC event websites, as many as 1,000,000 monthly visitors review live and archived videos, see who has been invited to camps, and learn about and register for events.  This level of engagement suggests there are additional opportunities to monetize interest by players and their parents in the player’s development.

To create these additional opportunities, NUC is developing its technology platform to allow players, parents, coaches, and recruiters role-specific access to recruiting profiles.   Many of NUC’s upcoming services will be based on this platform.

Membership – Q1 2015

NUC is developing a cloud-based membership offering through a monthly subscription model.  Building on its exposure and education base, the NUC platform will provide players with a self-managed website while integrating recruiting education as well as NUC event statistics.  Players can load their highlight videos, respond to requests from recruiters, and share their info via social media channels.

Quick Pitch

NUC will develop a technology platform that integrates combine data with player profile, stats, video and athlete and parent education. The platform will monetize access to recruiters seeking player info and rankings as well as players seeking to host a recruiting profile.Integrated with mobile access and social networks, NUC will further develop and refine its community of customers and their fans.Using CRM tools, NUC will be able to gain a much deeper understanding of its customer behaviors and needs, which will allow for additional monetization through apparel and partner sponsor products and services.

Beyond the high school football experience, NUC will leverage the platform to remain in contact with alumni playing collegiately, as well as integrate those players into combines as counselors.History has shown that NUC alumni are often top ranked high school athletes with a very strong chance at playing in the NFL.By providing value to NUC alumni through their college playing days, and by virtue of the relationships it develops with these players, NUC is positioning itself to succeed as a professional football agency

Team

David Schuman - CEO

A man with a dream to help every athlete get a chance to play college football

ABOUT DAVID SCHUMAN, CEO David Schuman founded NUC as a response to the demand by high school players and parents to improve their standing in the eyes of college recruiters. After earning dual masters degrees and several years as a technology executive, David – a former University of Connecticut letterman, found a way to stay connected to the game he loved. In 2003, David published a book on increasing speed, and based on the response rate found that there was a real demand from players to improve their game to attract college recruiters. Training led to events, events led to more events, and an expertise in evaluating and preparing players for college was uncovered. He has since grown NUC to its current level of over 120 events and 20,000 participants annually, is a sought after expert for college football radio shows, and serves as the head coach of a dominant New Jersey high school football team. David earned his BS in Finance from the University of Connecticut, as well as a MBA from Connecticut and a MA in Physical Education from Columbia. FOUNDER AND CEO David Schuman founded NUC after several years as a technology executive. Having had the chance to play football through college, David was itching to find a way to stay connected to the game he loved. The end of the Dot Com 1.0 era provided him the impetus to get out of the technology world and re-connect with his football roots. In 2003, David started the precursor of NUC, focusing on training and coaching athletes. He had just published a book on increasing speed, and based on the response rate found that there was a real demand from players to improve their game to attract college recruiters.
