ORSTAT: How It Works

ORSTAT automatically facilitates more efficient OR turnover with a comprehensive system of push notifications that can be created and sent directly to the appropriate employee’s device in advance of when the task must be completed.

The turnover process is started simply by selecting an OR, adding the task start time and pressing the START button. The appropriate staff are then notified of when and where they need to be to complete their tasks.

Employees can then update task completion via their device to initiate the next phase of turnover. ORSTAT holds staff accountable by notifying them of late task starts and late task completions and by recording tasks in the mobile app.

Near the completion of a turnover, surgeons, anesthesiologists, pre-op managers and perioperative supervisors are then notified that an OR is about to become “room ready,” allowing for more efficient patient and surgical preparation.

Richard Guarino | Mr. Guarino is an accomplished executive with over 35 years of experience in business development in the private sector and public higher education. He earned his BA in Business from Hofstra University and an MBA from Dowling College.

Christopher J. DiRusso | Mr. DiRusso brings 10 years of preoperative experience along with 20 years of sales, marketing and process improvement successes.
