SUSTAINING THE FUTURE, ONE PATIENT AT A TIME
RecycleMed Overview

To manage the excessive amount of medical waste produced every year in the United States, RecycleMed will collect discarded Single Use Medical Devices and reprocesses them through a rigorous FDA-approved process and standard known as the 510(k).

After remanufacturing these medical devices, they meet a standard that equals or exceeds the OE device. They can then be resold up to 50% of the retail cost, and in some cases reprocessed multiple times – all while being as safe and effective as the original devices.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS
RecycleMed is partnered with NEScientific a well-established, ISO 13485 registered end-to-end medical device remanufacturer with full FDA and regulatory compliance, to reprocess our medical devices.

SUSTAINING THE FUTURE, ONE PATIENT AT A TIME
The Medical Waste Problem

While the evolution of single-use devices (SUDs) was first seen as a notable improvement over the original procedures, as a consequence of these advancements it soon became apparent the sheer amount of waste this new industry created.

Due to a lack of third-party reprocessors for single use devices, the United States does not recycle or reprocess medical devices on a large enough scale to efficiently manage and reduce this monumental amount of waste.

SUSTAINING THE FUTURE, ONE PATIENT AT A TIME
SUDs Meet Sustainability

RecycleMed reconciles the benefits of SUDs with their environmental impact by recovering devices that can be reused – thus resulting in a practically brand-new, identical medical device.

Once reprocessed the medical device is FDA approved, and functions with the same level of quality that health care professionals expect from SUDs.

With the customer base built-in, they simply need to be educated on this alternative solution that is equal in every way, safe, effective, sustainable and cost effective.

How We Do It

RecycleMed will follow the FDA’s standardized approval process for reprocessing single use medical devices known as the 510(k).

After core collection, reclaimed medical devices begin routine cleaning and disassembly and then enter a series of tests to determine whether they meet the same standard as the predicate or new device. After cleaning the devices move on to remanufacturing and ultimately High Level Disinfection (HLD).
