Using our interactive insurance websites, we guarantee our customers the ability to purchase insurance to protect their belongings or business assets, during any phase of the relocation process. Whether the service provider is a full service moving company, a mobile storage company, or whether a rented truck or a self-storage facility is being utilized, we offer an insurance solution with solid coverage and protection and an easy purchasing experience.

Product/Service Details

Via our network of 140 websites, we capture private and business leads of individuals or commercial entities seeking insurance for their specific situations. Through our five main sites, we funnel these leads and provide the users the specific type of coverage they need. An online process guides these users to purchase coverage and receive confirmation of coverage in real time.

Our online system monitors the underwriting process as well as manages the entire risk assesment phase to ensure 100% compliance and as low of a rate of claims as possible.

Behind our online system, which we have created in-house, stands a team of professionals with over 100 years of experience in the moving and storage industries, to support, maintain and improve our systems and process.

As an insurance agency, we are licensed to sell property and casualty insurance in all US states, as well as internationally, and we are utilizing insurance policies underwritten by A+ rated international insurance companies.

On the claims side, we employ an in-house claims adjusting team, managed by a licensed risk manager, which allows us to manage our claims quickly and effectively.

Traction & Accomplishments

Established in July of 2003, here is a short list of our accomplishments:

  • January 1, 2004 - Launched our MovingInsurance.com portal
  • January 13, 2004 - Sold our first moving insurance policy: $7,000 of value for $70 in premium
  • In 2004 we sold 2,454 insurance policies, for a total gross premium of $606,000, while insuring over $62,000,000 worth of shipments
  • In 2008 we launched our Self Storage Insurance program, on StorageInsurance.com. This program is generating currently over $80,000 per year in gross premium
  • We currently manage a network of 150 websites with five main sites directly managing our insurance programs
  • Our network of service providers (moving, self-storage, mobile-storage and alike), has grown to over 2,500 companies, which are utilizing our insurance programs either directly or by offering it to their customers
  • Our main websites are attracting over 10,000 unique visitors each month and are ranked on the top pages of the major search engines for the relevant search terms
  • Following our compliance and risk management process, we generate a profit in excess of 50% to our insurance carriers, a tremendous and highly above average profit ratio.

Gadi Binness - President and CEO

Founder and visionary 


Gadi Binness has more than 25 years of management, sales and business development experience in the relocation and Internet industries. His relocation career started with Shleppers Moving and Storage, one of New York’s most prominent and successful moving companies where he held key sales and operations positions. After establishing and growing his own successful moving and storage company, he joined Meyers Moving as a partner and vice president. Gadi was instrumental in establishing Meyer’s relationship with Mayflower Transit and increasing the agency’s revenues over a period of two years. After selling his portion of the business, Gadi tapped the growing Internet and e-commerce markets as the vice president for business development with Moving.com (later Monstermoving.com), the industry’s leading relocation website. In this capacity, he was responsible for creating online partnerships with the Internet’s leading real estate portals, generating millions of dollars in revenues for Monstermoving.com. Gadi established Moving Insurance LLC, dba: Relocation Insurance Group, LLC in 2003. The company has revolutionized the way consumers and relocation vendors purchase all types of relocation insurance. Gadi holds property and casualty insurance producer licenses in all 50 states and life and accident/health licenses in New Jersey and New York. When he is not working, Gadi enjoys traveling the world, spending time with his two sons and golfing.


Geoff Stanton - Director of Technology

Manages our hardware and software  


With a background in software design and architecture, Geoffrey Stanton brings vast online application development experience to RIG. Concentrating on development with the .Net framework, Geoff aims to integrate technology into core business processes while simplifying the user experience. By focusing on infrastructure design and developing tools that increase efficiency without sacrificing usability, he has helped to make MovingInsurance.com the #1 destination for users of all types seeking to purchase moving insurance online. Geoffrey Stanton earned Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Franklin Pierce College of New Hampshire.


Kelly Moran - Vice President of Risk Management

Manages our Risk Management Division 


The company’s Vice President of Risk Management, Kelly Moran, has worked in the moving industry for more than 25 years. Prior to joining RIG, Kelly worked at United Van Lines, managing several departments including operations, sales, marketing, advertising, customer service and international business development. Kelly is a licensed Property and Casualty Insurance producer in 27 states and holds a RIM (Registered International Mover) certification through AMSA. She is also certified in claims and arbitration through AMSA. In addition, Kelly was a Certified Quality Labor Trainer for both United Van Lines and Mayflower Transit. She was featured as one of the prominent women in the industry in the May / June 2012 issue of Journal of the International Association of Movers.


Simone Blum - Director of Sales and Business Development

Manages our sales, business development and customer service 


Originally from South Africa, Simone moved to New York in 1994 and has been working in insurance claims and relocation business management since. Simone’s primary career focus has been in the area of managing field sales but she’s also well-versed in digital marketing strategies. At Relocation Insurance Group, Simone is responsible for building new business by partnering with new affiliates, overseeing the Moving Insurance customer call center, and implementing new lead generation strategies. Simone is a masterful networker and has consistently exceeded sales quotas throughout her career. She studied industrial psychology at University of South Africa.


Kim Weaver - Compliance Manager

Manages our Compliance Department 


Kim performs due diligence on all new moving companies joining our network of affiliates. She also works with moving companies to reduce risk through proper packing, licensing, and training. In addition, Kim develops requirements for new relocation insurance programs and creates quotes for commodities being shipped domestically and internationally for our logistics insurance programs. Kim has worked in the moving and relocation industry for more than 16 years. Prior to joining RIG, she was with United Van Lines for nine years. There she handled customer service for local, long distance, and international moves. Kim was also involved in monitoring insurance coverage for customer moves. Prior to being employed by United Van Lines, Kim was employed by Paul Arpin Van Lines where she held positions in the sales, customer service, dispatch, and claims control departments. Kim holds a RIM (Registered International Mover) certification through AMSA and is a Certified Quality Labor Trainer for both United Van Lines and Mayflower Transit.


Jane McCarthy - Customer Service Manager

Manages our Customer Service Department 


Jane McCarthy has worked in customer service for 30 years, with 25 years in the moving industry. At United Van Lines, Jane worked as a customer service clerk, a dispatcher and a master lease counselor. She also handled customer service for national accounts, COD and origin and served as destination coordinator on local and long distance moves. She then went to work for a United Van Line agent as a long distance dispatcher where the fleet grew from five to 30 drivers. At Relocation Insurance Group, Jane manages the customer service department for MovingInsurance.com where she interacts with approximately 75 customers a day. Jane is a licensed Property and Casualty Insurance agent.


Crissy Tedesco - Bookkeeper and Executive Assistant

Office Manager, Bookkeeper and Executive Assistant 


Crissy (Cris) Tedesco has more than 30 years of experience in bookkeeping and office administration. At Relocation Insurance Group, she provides direct administrative support to the entire staff and assists with special projects as requested by the CEO. She is responsible for all aspects of financial control and the day-to-day office administration. Cris works closely with the CEO in the financial development of new programs and projects. She previously was employed with a property and casualty insurance agency where she was responsible for customer service for both commercial and personal lines.


Linda White - Claims Adjuster

Adjusts claims for all our insurance programs 


Linda White has more than 20 years of business experience with seven in the relocation industry. She has adjusted claims for corporate relocation and military relocation as well as cargo claims for a major carrier. At Relocation Insurance Group, Linda investigates and processes claims and settles them in an accurate and timely matter. She also follows up with agents and customers to facilitate prompt claim resolution. In addition to her claims capabilities, Linda has served as a subject matter expert, has provided input in the development of new corporate systems and has consistently received high satisfaction ratings from customers. Linda holds a bachelor of science degree in human resource management. She graduated Cum Laude.
