Paris loves to keep up with the latest dining trends, but the city’s lagging behind when it comes to delicious, plant-based dining in a great, sit-down atmosphere.

Saint Isidore plans to change all that with our heavenly plant-based fare that’s all delicious, no dogma.

Missing plant-based dining in Paris 

When founder Jennifer Crain returned to Paris from a family vacation, her refrigerator was empty. This California girl wanted to order a meal that was super-healthy but felt like an indulgence — a big salad, buddha bowl, kombucha, maybe even some vegan cheesecake for dessert.

Healthy lifestyle and California cuisine trends are booming in Paris. Still, plant-based food options including kale salads, gluten-free pizza and veggie lasagna, tacos and burgers are not readily available. And when they are, it is an uninspired salad and maybe a juice.

Crain longed for a fun, healthy, plant-based experience that both families and foodies could enjoy. So she decided to take the plates into her own hands.

Saint Isidore will bring fun, healthy, plant-based food to Paris. Backed by a team of top-shelf chefs, designers and brand identity experts, the mid-level, sit-down restaurant promises terrific food in a hip, relaxed atmosphere.

Both the setting and the menu will appeal to a wide variety of lifestyles and dining choices. We’ll offer tasty, plant-based food, juices, cocktails and kombucha at mid-level prices that are
reasonable, but connote a quality dining experience.

Reverently named for Saint Isidore, the patron saint of farmers known for his ethical treatment of people and animals, we promise heavenly plant-based food, no dogma required.

Is phenomenal too strong a word? We don’t think so.

When our executive chef came to Paris in September, he shopped the local organic farmers markets and played with seasonal items to test availability and cost.

He cooked for 16 friends, both French and international. Their reactions included:

Amazing!” and “Best food I’ve had in a long time!”

And our favorite:

I didn’t miss the meat.  If vegan food was really like this, I would eat it every day.”
