Product/Service Details

It works in three ways to prevent tragedies on personal and public levels:

Our Firearm Safety Kit (FSK) keeps control of the firearm in the hands of the owner by setting trigger lock conditions.

The Site Safety Kit (SSK) immediately locks down public sites through metal detection and FSKs breaching no-gun zones.

The Enterprise Management Software (EMS) enables police and public authorities to quickly respond to zone breaches.

Traction & Accomplishments

Our Firearm Safety Kit (FSK) keeps control of the firearm in the hands of the owner by locking the trigger based on selectable conditions or voice command. Unauthorized use, movement or location of the firearm activates cell phone alerts and AUTOMATICALLY LOCKS THE FIREARM TO RENDER IT INOPERATIVE until an
authorized owner/user deactivates the FSK.

The Site Safety Kit (SSK) provides automated security for sites such as schools, campuses and municipal buildings. The SSK Block Box detects a breach of the protected perimeter by unauthorized metallic objects. For No-Gun Zones, the SSK automatically closes and locks doors, gates and barriers. The system will also sound alarms and initiate lock downs while simultaneously communicating with municipal response teams.

The Enterprise Management Software (EMS) works in concert with the SSK to detect and secure locations, notify authorities, lock down sites and implement on-site safety protocols through automated data communications.

By working seamlessly with the FSK and SSK, the EMS is the final step in the
ShotBlock trio of products that will provide unparalleled protection from accidental,
isolated and mass shootings.

Team

Chris Baker - Founder & CEO

Chris Baker has over 40 years’ experience as an inventor, systems technologist, firearms enthusiast, program manager, property management, community service volunteer, systems and computer engineering architect and entrepreneur. He is the founder and owner of Talknowledge, LLC and is also employed with a DoD contractor in Arizona as an engineering program manager. Chris Baker was born in Nashua, New Hampshire in 1964. He graduated from San Jose State University (SJSU) in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and has completed Masters course work in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, systems engineering, business management, program management, and IT/computer networking and architecting and cyber security. While attending SJSU in 1983, he became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., a community service organization that was founded in 1914 with the belief of providing community service for all humanity. The principles instilled in Chris by this organization are what drive his passion to help mankind to this day. Because he also excelled in computer component integration and electronics, Chris was hired by DoD contractor Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMC) in 1984 while still attending SJSU. At LMC, he first operated and maintained digital and analog satellite ground communication systems for the Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN). After obtaining his degree he developed software, firmware and hardware for many DoD systems until he became the lead engineer on many projects. He was then promoted to Chief Engineer where he designed, architected and implemented the world’s first Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) over satellite DoD system that was globally deployed and is still in use today to serve warfighters around world. In 2001, Chris was promoted to a program manager for multiple product lines of Lockheed Martin Corp, then the world’s largest DoD contractor. He continued working on multiple programs valued from $3.5M to $2B at increasing levels of program management and portfolio leadership until his retirement in 2013. During his retirement, Chris continued to grow both of his companies: Baker’s Corner, a property management company; and Talknowledge, LLC, a technology integration and development company. Talknowledge, LLC was founded in 2005 on the premise of integrating the world’s latest technologies with the world’s largest challenges. Chris’ first invention with Talknowledge was in 2006 where he invented one of the world’s first person and asset locator system based on voice recognition. From 2007-2010, he performed vast research and developed implementations regarding the control of firearm muzzle velocity of several firearm types based on situational awareness using electronic controllers and sensors. The majority of these early muzzle speed designs lead to deeper understandings of firearm action mechanisms, barrel dynamics and ammunition composition for both military and private weapons. With the increasing accessibility to firearms coupled with the diminished capability to control their responsible use, Chris saw the need to address this inevitable danger by employing his acquired experience and application of technology, firearms and service for humanity. In 2017, after hearing about the latest influx of accidental home and mass shootings, he started inventing a method to manually or automatically deactivate firearms upon detection of their unauthorized motion, use, environmental conditions, proximity and location. This concept further evolved to include protecting attendees at any location by automatically locking doors, sending alerts, as well as activating alarms and bulletproof barriers upon detecting any number of kitted firearm or specially treated bullets simultaneously at any and all locations. The ShotBlock system was invented.
