According to market analysis, though the salon industry nationally has about $40 billion in annual sales, the 50 largest companies only generate about 15 percent of the revenue. With no big players dominating the market, there's a lot of room for innovation.

Given this landscape, we have identified a significant opportunity in the cosmetology industry. Studio U Salons will provide cosmetology professionals a go-to community for starting and/or growing their career, without the prohibitive cost that comes with opening a new salon and becoming a business owner.

We are launching in the prestigious city Winter Park Fl. 32789 zip code in a A+ prime location. We will separate ourself from all existing competition by a more inviting community of studios.This differences will include a very spacious upscale modern lobby, full security entrance from the lobby to the studio salons, a lounge area for the clients, very upscale studios with a treasure chest of top line and abundant ammenities including the best chairs, cabinets, flat panel screen, latest technology, built in refrigerators, as well as a full educational support offering for every independent studio professional to help them grow their business. We have hired an award winng design team and a top tier branding, PR and marketing firm to enhance every aspect of our flagship studio.



The Studio U Salons concept gives cosmetology professionals the unique opportunity to reap the benefits of operating within a private studio, while working with a community of their peers. Our concept supports the entrepreneurial cosmetology professional by offering business mentoring including marketing, accounting and other professional training in a well-appointed setting. Studio U Salons will be the “go to” place for the cosmetology professional interested in running their own business.
 

This concept is similar to the executive suite business that has allowed small business owners to enjoy the benefits of a private office without the expense of ownership. In office suites there is the benefit of sharing a receptionist, lobby, conference room and equipment, thereby keeping the cost to have an office and all the necessary functions affordable.

Our Studio U Salons will have the most up-to-date technology for security, business applications, professional furniture, fixtures and equipment, and marketing. Our brand will be offered in the top 50 MSAs (metropolitan statistical areas) across the country through corporate and franchise locations.

Studio U Salons will offer better appointed lobby, lounge and studios than the competition. We will have better security for the comfort of our studio renter and their customers. Our studio renter and customer will recognize Studio U Salons as the best community to join in the pursuit of success. The professional training and support we can offer our studio renters will add to our competitive advantage.

Studio U Salons has made a lot of strides in developing our salon concept, creating our brand and bringing the concept to cosmetology professionals. Here are our accomplishments to date:

Lease for first location in Winter Park, Florida is negotiated and a 10 year lease has been signed. Plan to open early 2014.

Negotiating leases for the second and third location with planned openings in June 2014 in 2 other prime sought after locations in Central Florida.

On track to open additional 100+ corporate and franchise locations in the top MSAs across the USA over the next 36-48 months.

Have researched and visited over 10 locations of the competition in the US which are all 100% leased with waiting lists despite their inferior offerings


We have met with a number of vendors who are ready to do business

Team

Ted Bolin - CEO

Mr. Bolin has been involved in the acquisition, development, construction, financing, and management of real estate for over 25 years. 


Mr. Bolin began his career as an accountant with Ernst & Young and became a Certified Public Accountant. He then became Controller and VP of Finance for two local banks. In 1985 Mr. Bolin became a full time real estate developer working with some of the country’s largest home and commercial builders. During his entrepreneurially focused career he has developed financial and operational expertise from involvement in the organization and management of startup businesses including a bank, real estate development and home building company and a self-storage ownership and management company. Mr. Bolin is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.


Chip Headley - COO

Mr. Headley has been involved in the real estate industry for over 35 years. 


During his career Mr. Headley has led the development, construction, and management of hotels, churches, apartments, industrial facilities, offices, time shares, marinas, and single family homes. Mr. Headley is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree and an Executive Master of Business Administration degree. He is a currently a Doctor of Business candidate at Georgia State University. Mr. Headley has been an Instructor in Strategic Management, the Capstone Class at the University of Central Florida College of Business. He is a State of Florida Certified General Contractor and a Licensed Real Estate Broker.


Mark Cooney - Senior VP

Mark Cooney has over 30 years of real estate experience as a real estate sales and leasing agent. He has been the exclusive marketing agent for over 200 properties totaling over 25,000 acres and the actual sale/lease of over $200MM in transactions. 


Prior to joining Flagship, Mr. Cooney worked at The Duncan Companies Tampa office as President of the Land Sharks and previously spent 10 years with GVA Advantis as Executive Director, where he served as the lead land broker in the Central Florida Area. He was a top producer during the majority of his tenure. He also served for 15 years as Senior Vice President for Grubb & Ellis of Florida in the land division. Mr. Cooney was Regional Manager for the Florida Department of Commerce in their economic development efforts and he also spent four years with Tampa’s Jim Walter Corporation as National Accounts Administrator and International Accounts Supervisor. Mark is a graduate of the University of South Florida.


Alan Peck - Director

Mr. Peck has been involved in several aspects of the international and domestic financial markets for approximately 20 years. 


From 1994 -2004 he advised and managed client’s international portfolios inclusive of foreign equities, bonds, and currencies with exposure to Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America .He often lectured on the benefits of a globally diversified investment portfolio. For the following 10 years he assisted in establishing a Florida based securities firm. As Executive Vice President Mr. Peck worked with very selective clients in their portfolio management and during that time period helped establish a Bermuda office. A growing primary interest of his was directed to raising capital for various investment opportunities for strictly high net worth and accredited investors which are his primary focus today. Prior to being licensed in the securities business he worked for a Japanese business company providing U.S. businesses office solutions and was the #1 ranked professional 9 of the 10 years with that company. He won several major awards and was recognized in 2 chapters of a book written by a well-respected corporate sales trainer who published, Create Loyal Customers in an Unloyal World. Mr. Peck holds several financial licenses and certifications. He studied international business at Rollins College and has lectured for The Crummer MBA program.


Douglas Marvaldi - Senior Advisory Board

 


Mr. Marvaldi is an iconic internationally recognized hair and make -up artist. He has worked in Los Angeles with major celebrities , films and shows. He has been involved with every major show in NYC and is an invited guest speaker in Italy annually at the largest beauty shows there. Douglas has developed his own extensive product line including make up, hair and salon related products. He still owns and operates an upscale Salon in Winter Park Fl.
