Tidal is already established in the payments industry. Our executive team has over 15 years of payments experience.

We have a closer relationship with our merchants, leading to a 50 month merchant retention rate, with an industry average of 30 months.

Tidal has access to more data and lower rates than most of our competition. This gives us an advantage with our pricing, and what level of data we can offer merchants in the merchant dashboard.

Why we're raising

Tidal, a profitable merchant services provider through 2016, is seeking investments to enhance our technology quickly to set ourselves apart. This includes:

  • Expand software development team and decrease time to market for groundbreaking features.
  • Expand marketing budgets to combat competitive pressures and increase customer acquisition
  • Expand in-house sales and support teams to maintain high customer satisfaction.

Future plans

Often merchants will have to log into many different systems, with different credentials, and vastly different user interfaces. Tidal will be able to utilize the wealth of data we receive and our technology to combine these systems into a single easy to use merchant dashboard.

The merchant dashboard will allow merchants to quickly and easily access all of the information from their account. This includes transaction details, daily processing summaries, and advanced reporting. Merchants will also be able to make changes to their accounts and order additional equipment without having to call and talk to a support representative.

We also plan to launch our own payment gateway. This will integrate with the merchant dashboard and allow even further consolidation.

Once we have the payment gateway we can offer more services via the merchant dashboard, like a virtual terminal, invoicing, recurring subscriptions, and more.

In 2003, from the basement of his home, Drew started what is today’s Tidal Commerce, an established player in the Merchant Processing Services Industry. Drew has been Tidal's driving force and CEO ever since its beginning.

Angela Sementa joined Tidal Commerce near its infancy in 2005. Starting in sales, Angela saw an opportunity to provide structure and organization to a start-up with great potential. She has played a key role in Tidal's rapid growth, forming valuable relationships with the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center.

Dan has over 15 years of experience in web development as well as development team management. He has operated as Lead Developer for several startups, including Lightbank and Spark Hire, and web developer for respected financial institutions Experian and Ameritrade. His portfolio includes site development for national brands such as Ford Motor Company and Tyson Foods, as well as ordering system development for Pizza Hut and Domino’s.
