UBDoc is a groundbreaking new interactive health information portal dedicated to empowering people all over the world to take control of their medical care.

Combining cutting-edge 21st-century technology with insight from qualified medical professionals, UBDoc is ready to make affordable, accessible healthcare a reality all over the world, and change the way people think about their healthcare options.

When it comes to healthcare, there are 3 critical problems people all over the world face:

1. Healthcare is inconvenient
Patients frequently cannot get the answers they need when and where they need them, and navigating complex healthcare bureaucracies can be time-consuming, confusing and exhausting.

2. Healthcare is expensive
In the US alone, healthcare costs account for 17.6% of the GDP. Even in other OECD countries where the cost is not quite as high, healthcare is still a leading cause of national debt.

3. Healthcare is not always available
Particularly in crowded urban areas and sparsely populated rural areas, getting appropriate medical attention when you need it can be an impossible task.

With UBDoc, we're envisioning a smarter approach to healthcare: one that harnesses the best technology and medical innovations the 21st century has to offer and uses them to help people all over the world get anywhere, anytime access to the medical care they need.

With UBDOc, people all over the world will have quick access to accurate, convenient, inexpensive healthcare.

Our interactive web-based platform guides users through a simple, streamlined process designed to help them gain a better understanding of their symptoms and diagnosis, and empower them to seek appropriate, qualified treatment without resorting to inconvenient, expensive doctor visits.

Plenty of websites existing today, like WebMD or MayoClinic, provide general information about health conditions and their symptoms. But only UBDoc will provide an interactive, personalized experience, guiding users all the way from symptoms to diagnosis to treatment.

UBDoc is being designed as a truly global healthcare solution, applicable in countries around the world and available in a variety of languages, including English, Spanish, Chinese, French and Hindi. From urban areas where physicians are easily accessible but rarely available, to rural areas where the closest physician may be many miles away, with UBDoc everyone can get the medical care they need, when and how they need it.

The UBDoc process begins when the user logs in, enters their credit card information (or, in places where credit cards are not as ubiquitous, their cell phone number), and signs a legal disclaimer releasing UBDoc from responsibility for any medical errors.

Then, UBDoc will guide users through a simple, streamlined 4-step process. Each of the 4 UBDoc steps will be affordably priced to reflect the level of service it provides. UBDoc is designed to be flexible, so users can move within the process according to their needs. For example, if no tests are necessary, they can skip directly from step 1 to step 3.

Step 1: Diagnose
Users will enter their primary symptoms (“headache”, “joint pain”, “shortness of breath”) using a simple drop-down menu. Based on their primary symptoms, users will be asked to answer a series of secondary questions designed to gather more information about the nature of their symptoms. Once users complete all the questions, they will be presented with a list of conditions that meet their specific symptoms.

Pictures will be utilized throughout the questioning process to ensure clarity and accuracy, and users will be linked to informational sites, such as WebMD or MayoClinic, where they can research potential diagnoses in more detail.

Step 2: Test
If appropriate—and only if appropriate—UBDoc will suggest tests users may need to take. The tests will be targeted, saving users and the healthcare system money by avoiding unnecessary tests. UBDoc will then link users to labs and imaging centers where they can get the tests they need.

Once users’ test results are back, they will be able to enter the values into the UBDoc system, further narrowing their diagnosis. When their specific diagnosis is determined, UBDoc will provide users with a list of suggested physicians that they can visit if they choose to do so.

Step 3: Discuss
Users will have the option of discussing their symptoms, diagnosis and possible treatment with qualified physicians via webchat. All UBDoc physicians will provide a biographical sketch and credentials, so users can make an informed decision about the physician they select.

Physicians will have access to users’ history and test results, and may request more details if required. Based on this information, they will be able to provide patients with their professional medical opinion and advice.

Step 4: Consult
In the final step of the UBDoc process, users will have the option of being seen by a physician through an existing telemedicine provider, such as CallMD.com. All participating telemedicine physicians will be board-certified and have appropriate licenses for users’ locations, and will be authorized to prescribe medications and official courses of treatment for users’ ailments.

UBDoc is still in the early stages of development, but we're already laying the groundwork for exciting things to come:

The UBDoc software and website are already in development, with momentum building toward getting a working prototype ready for beta phase testing.

We've conducted extensive surveys with potential UBDoc users, all of whom have indicated overwhelming support and acceptance for the UBDoc concept.

We've been in talks with 3 leading telemedicine providers regarding the possibility of partnering thier doctors with the UBDoc platform.
