Wine Advisor is a mobile app that lets users quickly search for and locate the best valued wines, in their category, that are easily accessible at local retail shops. The user of the app can quickly search for a particular grape, region, rating, combination of all three, or request a specific food pairing. The app will then query the Wine Advisor database for the best valued wine that is available in the user’s area at a local retail location. No more searching impractical wine apps that continually recommend bottles that aren’t even available for sale! The user will literally become an expert on wine selection and valuation. Use wine advisor to impress family, friends and coworkers, or to select new bottles for your home collection. Wine Valuation can be done by anyone with Wine Advisor within minutes!

Wine Valuation Methodology

Wine Advisors’ proprietary valuation model is a key value driver, developed by our partner who is an equity portfolio manager. Recognizing that a move from an 85 point wine to an 87 point wine is not the same as a move from a 91 point wine to a 92 point wine, wine advisors proprietary valuation model normalizes all wines across a common scoring criteria that truly locates the best valued wines in the their category. The model essentially finds the wines that are priced many standard deviations below their own historical mean or others in their category. The key to the model is to exclude bottles that aren’t available for sale, making the app practical for the daily user that doesn’t have time to search for a particular bottle.

Wine apps available today may display the “best quality” wines- but good luck finding them! Most search results aren’t available for sale at local stores and are difficult to find online. Wine Advisor takes the work out of filtering the bottles available at a user location and only displays the wines that are available. The result is a very efficient, easy to use method of selecting wine for consumption or collection.
